Hi everyone,

I'm having a small problem that is really bugging the OCD part of my brain, and I'm hoping someone can help me!

Basically, in my main chat window I have about 10 tabs for different channels of which some channels are regularly used (local, general chat channels...), and others that aren't used that frequently (corp, alliance...). I have it set so that the important channels that are only used occasionally are set to blink, and my regularly used channels aren't. In order to keep everything nice and organised, I like the blinky channels to the right of my list of tabs, and my non-blinky channels to the left.

In order to try and rearrange the order of my channels I click on the tab and drag it, removing it from the chat window, and then drop it onto the chat window again. This places that particular tab to the back of the list and so doing this repeatedly I can order my tabs how I want to.

The problem I have is that every time I log on to the game the order the tabs are in appear to be completely randomized and I can't find a setting anywhere in order to lock the order of the tabs. Is there a way of accomplishing this? And if not, why not? Seems like a such a basic feature to have.

I have the same problem since years, and i know that many other players have it too.

Do you do a quick log off? Or do you log off safely, this tends to guarantee your data is correctly cached for next time. Try that and let us know if it works.

Hmph, that's a good point. I only ever log off in station and so (I think?) use the quick log off. I'll try logging off safely later on today and let you know if it makes a difference.

I've checked my log off procedure, and when in a station I press escape and hit the log off button in the bottom right hand corner of the window, there is no 'log off safely' option while in station like there is in space, it appears. What else could be causing my chat tabs to change their order on every log on? I take it from your responses that not everyone has this issue?

The problem is putting everything in the same tab.
Normally about 3 chat windows is good.
Local. always standalone.
Fleet
Everything else.

But if you watch people's videos, you'll see almost the entire window full of chat and a little square of space in the middle.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.
