Take it back, you obviously bought the wrong one.

Ok then... after getting a new computer and installing steam-eve online. I try to play when the steam windo pops up that says it is starting eve then it closes and eve does not start.

I have reinstalled steam and eve and I am still not able to bring eve up.

You could just download the EVE launcher and see if that works.

Download the new launcher, forget steam when it comes to eve. (Steam is nice, I love it, but eve is a whole nother monster that doesn't need to live inside steam)

Literally ONE google search and I found this information. Are you even trying? Or did you expect the forums to do all the work for you. You probably bought the best Dell the sales guy could recommend, didnt you...

Either that, or ask Valve for a refund on your purchase and download Eve like normal people do. Since you haven't been able to play Eve at all, you should have up to 14 days to do so, just add "Problems with compatibility, unable to play," to the reason's field and they should have you're account credited within an hour or so and Eve removed from your game's list.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

Perhaps you should take this up with Valve.

Heya, Stream Eve launches the wrong Launcher for login. CCP has updated it and valve didn't keep up, so for now download it separately from Steam, you don't need it to play.

I had the same issue, happened two days ago.

I don't understand why you can't just download the EVE Launcher and play normally without Steam. If you made your account with EVE through Steam, then your account and your characters are still in the EVE universe. You just need to sort out logging into your account through the EVE Launcher instead of through Steam.

I saw someone post a link above that's about figuring this exact problem out. Absolute worst case, make a new dummy account with CCP and submit a ticket about your issue (because this would be a CCP issue and not a Valve issue). You'll probably need to verify your identity, but otherwise I'm 97% sure that CCP would sort it out for you in a heartbeat.

You are definitely not the first person to go through this, so I'm positive things have been put in place to help with the transition from Steam to the EVE Launcher.

The new launcher offers tons of features, like saved user settings, and test server access, saved login information, all rolled into a splash screen that tells you the latest news from CCP. There is literally no reason not to use it/use steam over it. (You can still add the launcher.exe into steams 'library' to be able to launch it there, if you have to have it that way)

Well if you're so rich as to be able to afford a new computer, just hire some tech support to fix it.
