Leaving a game i like

This isn't a moan or rant just a observation from a player who returned after a few years away
I started playing eve back in 2003 and was blown away by how complex and how in depth the
game was, returning only last week i was eager to explore all the wonderful new features, baddies
and ships and quite delighted that all my ships , money and items were still there and relevant to
the game
I set about gathering items in my trusty transport, traveling through which I thought of as sort of
safe zones, sec level 1s etc only too be swarmed on by wanted players webbed and podded and this is where
the game changed for me, don't get me wrong im not a carebear eve is based on conflict between players and
ive certainly done my fair share over the years but it just seemed so easily done and so rampant in high sec space,
the loss of the ship and a few 100mil was not a concern it was just the ease of it ,checking forums and coming across
topics of how too pod in high sec space ,killing miners ,low sp players was certainly a bit of a shock

And that's the juts of the matter, for me anyhow this was not the eve I remember yes there was rife gate camping,
and what seemed the occasional pod kill in high sec space ,but nothing like this, I feel sorry for new players
working hard to earn some coin grinding away climbing that grind ladder for that shiny new ship only to be podded

I feel that the choice for not putting your shiny new ship in danger i.e pvp has gone, there many examples where
everyone knows if you take your ship there its on the menu , where players skill in pvp or avoidance are tested

Anyhow decided to leave , burnt my bridges on the way , gave the few billion isk away to new players and sold
the billions of isk worth of ships for a few isk and the many years collecting them , lol im sure that night I made some
one smile
Eve is a great game ,the best space sim out there for sure , but its changed ,, but hey its just a observation from a
old pilot
enjoy eve and be nice to each other unless you see red and wanted then

SHOOT THE F.............

p.s 1 must be the only player who did actually sell battleships for 1 isk without scam lol

You failed to mention your trusty transport had over a bil in assets and a very poor tank when you lost it.

The game hasn't changed in the direction you percieve, in fact it's the opposite of your perception relatively speaking, it's just a bad thing finally happened to you.

You put a billion ISK worth of stuff in an untanked T1 hauler, flew threw a choke point that is known for ganking and are surprised that someone actually blew you up?

I'm sure that threatens to fill a bingo board somewhere. Just need a few more posts from OP to hit the rest of the squares.

As much as I'd love to feel for you here... I just can't. I too am a returning player after a four year hiatus and I'd done the same thing you'd done except I can top ya. Back when I was young and dumb in the game and had some found money in RL, I decided to use some of it by buying PLEX to sell to boost my in game currency. Mistake one: not being in a station in Jita when I bought it, so I had to go retrieve it since this isn't a magical cute and cuddly game like WoW is where your items magically appear in a bank in another town. So I went back where my PLEX was at, got it, and then made mistake number two by undocking with it in the hold.

Mistake number 3: jumping into Jita with the PLEX in my hold. I was five seconds from docking when I was suicide ganked (in retrospect, rightfully so). I lost out on about 1bil of ISK and $20.00 of RL currency and had nothing to show for it. I played on after I learned the costly real lesson that you can get killed at any time, anywhere. That is life. That is EVE. Accept it. Yeah, it hurt to lose that but I got over it (Side note: I left EVE due to RL obligations but am back now).

Anyway, so now I play with the mantra that "I am no safer in hi-sec than I am in null sec" and "everyone is out to kill me". I say it every time I login to the game. I've been surprisingly happier playing this time around with that thought in mind.

On another side note: if you have any ISK or assets left feel free to send it my way. I'll give it a good home. ;)

When you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, you come across as being so uneducated that your viewpoint can be safely dismissed. The literate is unlikely to learn much from the illiterate.

CCP recognize that during the course of gameplay a lot of friendships are made between players and that sometimes if a player is taking a break or departing from the EVE universe that they would like to say goodbye on the forums. Posts of this nature are only permitted on the Out of Pod Experience forum, and must be civil and well worded.

Moving this to OOPE.

In the USA there's a stolen valor stuff. Can we make a law in the forums with stolen bittervets so we can stop the scrubs claiming they were from 2003 and don't know about eve common sense. Or is it more common to have people living under a rock for more than 13 years?

Post with your NPC alt main and not your main main alt!

Maybe this game had underdeveloped gankers back then, who knows.
