Is there a list of which T1 items their T2 counterparts come from?

I've been getting more and more into industry, and it's a lot of fun. But the thing I keep running into is finding which things turn into which other things. It's pretty obvious for modules, but things like Ammo and Ships aren't quite so obvious. I can look at ships to see which model they come from (a slow process, but it's working to help me compile my list), but things with ammo doesn't have that.

Short of going through every BPO out there to check every BPC they make to see if they can be invented into something, is there a list anywhere that shows which T2 items come from which T1 items? Specifically ammo and, to a lesser degree, ships.

The variations tab of any item in the game tells you that, including ammo. I expect someone has made a list and hopefully they will post it for you, but in the meantime all that info is ingame already.

A very useful tool for industry is IPH "Isk per hour' It's such a powerful program that the "overview" tutorial video is about an hour long.
https://eveiph.github.io/

There is also Fuzzwork industry tools which has a material to BP tool. https://www.fuzzwork.co.uk/materials/

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

I didn't even think to use the Variations tab! That'll speed things up a bit, at least.

If a list doesn't exist already, I'll put it online once I finish mine. It won't be 100% complete, but it'll have all the stuff that isn't obvious (Gyrostabilizier II comes from Gyrostabilizer I? Obvious. Gleam comes from Multifrequency? Not so obvious.)

I do use IPH, and it's a great program, but it doesn't show which items come from which items, and most T2 ammo don't require the use of their T1 counterpart to be able to quickly scroll through at a glance. Using Fuzzworks wouldn't be very different from what I'm currently doing, unfortunately.

It's a somewhat advanced question, and you may have better luck if you ask in the Science and Industry forum.

This is just one example of how having some experience with combat can benefit an industrialist. Most pvp/pve pilots would quickly see multifrequency as the logical choice because it fills the same roll as gleam (shortest range, highest damage ammo).

There are many ways that getting experience in other areas of the game can improve your efficiency as an industrialist. Having knowledge of PVP fittings and knowing the "flavor of the month" can help you understand the demand for your products. Finding products that sell is just as important as finding those with good profit margins.

Of course it's a huge game and it takes time to become familiar with absolutely everything. So we will often suggest that you find a niche you are interested in (say...faction warfare) and then cater to that niche with your industry once you get a bit of specialized knowledge (helping answer the questions "who do I sell to?" and "where do I sell it?"). Being on the ground-floor gives you an advantage over producers that aren't in "the know".

Chruker hasn't been updated in a year or so but can still provide most of the information you're looking for out of game. You will need to navigate to a T2 product you're interested in and look at the variations.

Look at the icon?

What does Scorch look like? Blink

Tip: You can type the name of any item or any BPO into chat, highlight it (CTRL A) and right-click auto-link it to create a link to that object. Even items that are not available in-game can be viewed this way.

I have the same issue with salvage, we should be able to right click and see what it can be used in.

I know it can be filtered out via ore and minerals but it still doesn't say what it is used in.

After over 4 years I still can't be bothered to go through every single rig bpo and catalogue them.

Well, there's a lot of different munition types available.

I thought I had a more complete list but since I'm Minmatar guess I didn't concern myself with the other Factions. Hope this helps.

T2 Invention - Minmatar Munition Types

Artillery :
Carbonized = Tremor
Titanium = Quake

Autocannon :
Nuclear = Barrage
Depleted Uranium = Hail

Tell it what you want to make, it'll tell you what you invent from. (It currently links you through to what you invent from.)

If you want something more global, you want to get
https://www.fuzzwork.co.uk/dump/latest/industryActivityProducts.csv.bz2
https://www.fuzzwork.co.uk/dump/latest/invTypes.csv.bz2

Activity ID 8 is invention. So if you cross reference the typeid (for the blueprint), activity 8, and the product typeid (the result) you'll get the entire thing.

Cheers Steve, I can't open the bottom 2 and the top one presumes we know what we want to invent.

I just want to know what salvage is used in what rig, without going through every BPO to find out.

The two files are bzipped. 7zip will open them, and then you can open the resultant files with a spreadsheet app.

As for that salvage is used in what rig, that's got nothing to do with T2 from T1?

Anyway, that's in https://www.fuzzwork.co.uk/dump/latest/industryActivityMaterials.csv.bz2 Typeid is the blueprint type, materialtypeid is the material.

For ammo I believe it is always the closest range t1 ammo that goes into the short range t2 and the longest range t1 ammo that goes into the long range t2.

For ships it is the ship it looks *exactly* like...
