The last patch is a disgrace for any developer

Hi all,

I need your opinion and I think I am not alone with that.

Disclaimer: Don't get me wrong I really like what has been done, because it adds more depth to the game, if it would have been made right.

Problem:
the new light sources in game (hangar "spotlight") and engine lights

Engine lights first:
Its very nice that the engine now throw light on the ships surface, but for a very good example, the Rupture engines are shining onto parts of the ship that can't be reached by any light emitted from the engines, it is just a light source in the ships model shining through the ship instead of some lightsource from the engines. (I will add more ships as I find more that got this problem)

Inhangar "spotlight":
first, this is no spotlight its a light source you can't see which is hovering above the hangar spot. every ship thats bigger than a frigate sucks in the light source wich then comes out of it, and isn't highlighting the ship as it should be, it starts from cruisers as soon they got a higher size. You can even see the light source dissapear in the ship when you watch the docking sequence, for example: Charon, Oracle, Rupture, Cynabal, Mammoth and I guess any battleship because they are very big.

Don't understand me wrong, I like the ideas of those lights very much, but I think its almost a impudence to sell something like that as a big feature in a patch if its that poorly made. It looks like it was put in and noone checked it.

For example like the Wreath engines, their engine stream is just copied to the other half but because one of them is slightly off the angle, the other one which is mirrored is doing the same in the other direction.

I think this is way to bad for a game like EVE
I know its alot of work woth the citadels, which i appreciate very much, but if you aren't able to make it right, then postpone it. Noone will be angry. But this is just sloppy work....

Would be nice to hear some oppinions on that

Dude!

Unless the new lighting engine somehow causes cancer I think the lead line for this thread is more than just a bit over the top.

I love the new lighting effect.

I don't know if you can edit a thread title, but I would suggest:

"OCD individual has petulant complaint about new light effects"

It's a rant thinly disguised as a suggestion.

OP as far as I am concerned there are many things wrong with EVERY computer game I play from physics anomalies to bad lighting affects to serious balance issues so EvE has some of the same faults what's the big deal. I mean if the lighting bothers you that much then simply quit playing and the problem is solved.

I play since 2003 and this one of the worst patches I have experienced since then, especially with the fact that in the past there were bugfixing patches in the weeks after the main patches which fixed stuff like that. (OK the captains quarter patch is something else)

What I am talking about is the actual patch and how well its made.
Especially after several statements by CCP who said "we are now able to deliver new stuff when its ready and we don't need to wait for the major releases to do so"
So sure I am pissed to see such sloppy work in a game I really love and I actually pay money for. But its just another "golden bone" thrown in front of us, that had to be delivered, and take a look into your stations hangar and switch through ships. Thats no "spotlight" and its easy to spot, which brings the conclusion close that noone really put much effort into it.
So by the CCP statement above. why not wait till its good and release it then, as it was usual for CCP, instead of releasing this half working system?
Besides that, the title is harsh with the meaning to start people talking, which it did as you kindly made some posts on my topic

And for you that have to troll/rant/bully or what ever, instead of trying to insult me, you should read properly, because I said I like the light effects, and maybe you should check OCD again, because thats a little bit off of the meaning of it and then maybe, just maybe post some productive, like an "suggestion" yourself. Because your answers here are even less usefull.
But I guess you need those post to be happy with you, so you keep on writing unproductive BS

frankly I have to agree with Krall Hoar CCP are now producing crap and calling it upgrades,

CCP do a whole patch/upgrade on war decing then you'll be making eve great.

I do think an upgrade based on crap cinematic on docking or new friggin lighting is a company running on empty. its time ccp did some substance.

The whole serpentis grind is eve becoming wow. Eve needs new ideas new features and new direction.
