Hi guys,

I am currently moving to L2 missions and I have trained up 3 to 4 levels in skills for Amarr cruiser, drones, medium and light turrets . I saw some builds online but they look mostly for PvP. My plan roughly would be to use drones for longer ranges and bigger ships and light energy turrets in high slots when something comes close enough. Any advice from would be most welcome and forthcoming.

Thank you in advance Smile

My advice, try the Maller instead. The damage my not be great but you have the resist bonus when things look scary.

If you are used to armor repping and watch your capacitor you should be fine with one rep. Depending on the mission you should get energized platings or the armor hardeners.

I suggest medium beams since range will be your best friend - always.

For your mid slots, I would put an 10mn afterburner on, so you can move at low capacitor cost and cap a cap recharger and a stasis webifier for things that get too close.

You do not have to be cap stable, just turn your armor rep on when you reach 80-ish% armor and you should be at 100% again. The first indicator when you need to turn it on is, when your shields are down.

Turn it off after.

The Maller may only have room for 3 small drones but they can help if you need to get out. When you move up the next drone boat will be the mighty Prophecy.

She gets the same resist bonus and a very large drone bay. You can fit any turret or missile launcher you want on her.

The Arbitrator is a T1 EWAR Support Cruiser.

As a T1 EWAR Support Cruiser, it's one of the best ones going, up there with the Celestis as a rage-inducer. Tracking and Missile Guidance Disruption can really shred an opponents ability to apply damage.

It's certainly not a hull I'd look at for mission running, however I would strongly recommend you take a close look at it if you're venturing into PvP as part of a small gang.

I did all my level 2 missions in an arbitrator. The ai change might make it sticky now.
I'm sure they're still fine for missions. 2 drone damage amps, 1 resist hardener (active) for the primary damage, 1 energized resist membrane for the secondary, medium armor repairer.
Afterburner and capacitor rechargers in mids.
2 light missile launchers or rapid light missile launchers (depends on what fits) and 2 salvagers in the highs. you might also use drone link augmentors for more range.
CCC rigs or Repairer rigs, your choice.
All tech II if you can.
Bring drones that do damage your targets are weak against. 2 flights light, 2 flights medium (maybe switch a light flight for salvage drones if you like)
Use lights on the small ships first because they'll shred your mediums if you don't clear them out.

I also used an arbitrator to great success in my earliest attempts at pvp. I like neutralizers and armor plates on it with ab, scram, small cap booster II, and tracking disruptor. I cared more about keeping my neuts on than webbing.
For whatever reason, no one expects a solo arbi to be a threat (especially missioners Pirate)
I <3 Arbis.

It all depends on what your main focus is on. If you mostly trained up drones then the Arbi is great, if you only trained up guns then the Maller is your best shot and if you kinda trained both equally then the Omen is really good. It's level 2 missions, it's not like you need an amazing tank where if you don't bring the Maller it's going to hurt so just pick what you trained most for or which one you enjoy the most for whatever reason.

Here's an example fit showing you which modules can make good sense. The fit is all T2 so just replace with named versions where needed, it'll still work fine. I'm really not a fan of adding unbonused turrets without damage application mods, it looks good on paper but in actuality it doesn't do much.

Hehe.. How can you not??

My advice for flying a Maller, since he said he is moving from level 1 to level 2 missions and with increasing size and danger from NPCs he may not have enough experience for fly the Arbitrator yet.
He can always return to the Arbitrator at a later date. In the meantime the Maller is forgiving enough to get a handle of the increased danger he will face.

I personally prefer the Omen, it has slightly better cap, more DPS , way more drones and its a lot faster for burning to gates/ damage mitigation.

Less tank though.

Me too. She is a little kitey though and might not be the best choice for beginners training up from frigate to cruiser.

When you fly a cruiser with low skillpoints for the first time, they will feel super slow and heavy - until you sit in a battlecruiser or your first battleship.
