What does the EULA say about this:

- Say, I'm a translator irl.
- I get a job to translate 5 pages of German into English.
- One of my corp speaks German and I promise him 500M isk to translate the documents.
- I make 50Euro's by handing the documents to the client. While I translate another docu for a different client. So I work twice as fast.
- Result: With 50 euro's, I buy 3 Plex. 50 euro's income from the second docu.
= Profit irl, no?

Looks like a barter transaction to me. Not too many methods of enforcement if he shafts you.

No no. I've posted this to spark a discussion of currency ingame. That ISK, could become a trade for services out of the game.

Extrapolate that to a currency in a game, that has a MASSIVE amount of players. You just get rich while playing a game. A force you have to take into account?

Only because your paying with ISK for a service IRL, which I'm pretty sure isn't against the EULA or the TOS, what happens with the service IRL isn't really any concern with CCP as it doesn't involve their product at that point when real money is actually exchanged, unless it violates law's.

ISK already is used for services out of game - TS Hosting, Logos, etc. In fact, CCP specifically has a rule (somewhere, can't be arsed to look for it) that explicitly permits the exchange of ISK for RL services, so long as those services are game related.

So your example is no bueno, but you can use ISK to buy things OOG within certain specific constraints.
