Hello,

Since i like the industrial side of eve i wonder if i miss out anything by skipping the 40 days event ? Or are there any cool unique items in them ? (like special skins, cosmetics, badass blueprints, modules ?) And do you have more chance in null or WH space getting them ?

I know the isk probably be worth it. But what drops ? I know plex can drop, skill injectors aswell ?

I see the 3 crate rewards when you collected a certain amount of points... But for the moment i have some other things to do, can i grind later and buy them from the serpentis LP store in the future ?

I saw a list where was mentioned that "gold MAY contain a serpentis dreadnought 1 run bpc". But i cant confirm if its true or not.

My experience so far is:
2 days with a total of 6 hours spent. 2200 points made (i need 1250 each day to reach the goal of gold in time - i m alrleady short of 100).

That would mean (at this rate): 120 hours of "grind" where i will make almost no isk.
At the same time doing level 4 missions with an income of 30 - 40m / hours i´ll generate 3.6b - 4.8b.

At this point i stoped doing the sites.

Don't forget that you have to achieve gold well before the event ends to make use of the final booster, because all boosters expire the same day the event ends.

Part of the problem, for me at least, is the whole "40 days of solid site running and objective hunting" for some prize boxes that I have no idea what they might contain. And it's all very 100% or nothing at all setting. So much for encouraging. At this point, I'd sooner spend time scanning down DED sites in hopes of an escalation rather than for the points. I'm not gonna devout several dozens of hours on a scavenger hunt for "???" just because it says prize on it. As far as the event sites go, it's nice that they went with an "all on grid" system for giving credit for the sites that are tied to an objective rather than giving the points to one player, but still, and I've yet to see any site that was even close to worth running just on the notion of the rewards for THAT site by itself. Some sites are no more than a few cruisers and maybe a BC with no drops and no can. I know that's arguing High-Sec sites and the rewards likely get better (or simply exist in this case) on other parts of Eve, but if weren't going to low or null before, this wasn't gonna suddenly change my mind all on its own.

The objectives are also oddly set up too: I had one 24h objective asking for 50 Drifter kills for 2000 points while above it sat another objective without a timer asking for 10 Drifter kills for the same 2000 points. I kind of had to laugh at that when I first saw it, quite honestly. Getting some partial credit for getting nearly all of an objective done would have been nice, too. 49 kills would have gotten me nothing at all. Again, even some partial credit for objectives like that would have gone a long way I think. I imagine you get more than one objective at a time and that they are varied enough so that something is at least somewhat relevant to what you do normally, but it's still very hit or miss. Most of them seem like they need you to drop what you are doing to focus just on that to get anywhere.

It all feels like it assumes you have nothing else to do for the next month or so, but still have a lot of time in Eve to burn for that month. This little side show honestly cost way too much time and effort for some unidentified rewards that will likely be relegated to items that would be cool to have, but certainly not for the energy or time spent getting them. Sorry, CCP, but I think I'll pass this time. It'll be nice if I happen to make some points along the way doing what I've been doing all along, but unless I get really lucky with unintentionally racking up points, I won't be seeing the insides of any of these prize boxes. Back to L4's, I guess. I've gotten a chance to getting a Gila set up the way I want, but I have little more interests in these objectives and sites.

tl:dr
Neither the sites nor the objectives feel worth the time and effort to doing them beyond just for fun and, what's worse, for goals that are far to vague and unknown.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

From what I have seen the objectives are the same in high sec or 0.0, so no advantage there.
The only advantage in 0.0 is that if you are in an area with different salvage you get to salvage a lot of Serpentis and/or Angel salvage.

Having just accumulated 2 x 10,000 points on two characters I thought I'd redeem those for the lower tier rewards (to see what came up).

I was rewarded with 2 x skill accelerators, some clothing & skins. I also accumulated some bounty payments along the way, plus some of the drops from the main site everyone is farming.

While the "event" was fun at the start it soon became nothing more than a grind. With no variation in the rats, it became an exercise to see how fast I could complete the sites. Once I optimised that it was as boring as watching grass grow.

I haven't decided if the rewards are worth the effort (I very much doubt they are) but the repetitive nature of the event just makes it no fun at all.

If CCP are trying to create new content to generate more interest in the game, these sort of events need to be tiered so that the easy stuff can be done by newer players & made progressively harder (with better rewards) for longer term players.

So true, really boring event.

If they would add a lootable container to all sites and more varying loot (and small chance for something really valuable from the sites) the event could have been fun.

For the really active grinders the containers would have been an add on and casual players can atleast hope for loot from the sites.

But for casual players even reaching the bronze container is hard work for almost nothing as a reward.

The event ends in 32 days (ninth of august?), the description of the gold implant mentions that it does not work after YC118/08/19 and that after use it only works for 5 days.

The bronze box gave me:
- Men's 'Marshal' Jacket (Serpentis),
- Copper Ouroboros,
- Atron Serpentis SKIN (Permanent),
- Women's 'Gunner' Jacket (Serpentis).

The silver box gave me:
- Thorax Serpentis SKIN (Permanent),
- Brutix Serpentis SKIN (Permanent),
- Iteron Mark V Serpentis SKIN (Permanent),
- Silver Ouroboros.

Warping into yet another event site, I realized to my dismay that I was making the same, resigned sighing sound that I make at work when I have to attend to some boring chore. Yikes.

ATM I only have around 4k points. There is no way I'm going to last long enough to get the silver prize, never mind the gold. It's just too boring. Jeez, I may not even go for the bronze.

Cannot say that this event was a complete waste for me:

I did that one where you have to kill one of their ships in a Rookie ship.
I was astounded how much heat you can actually fit on a Velator: 2 light drones, 2 blasters, DCM, AB, armor repper

Thanks for the information. I will try to get some crates later on, still now its good weather and you can actually do some work outside, orders from higher hand i can not evade (cloaking perhaps ?). I can not clear the sites in highsec since i just play for a month and i am flying a venture. I leech it, by waiting in a site with my pod until someone else clears it. I would liked it more if the skins would be easier to get (free for all ?) and ppls would get decent isk ( like a plex or skill injector or item/ ship ) instead. I guess the skin prices will vary now to the amount of people farming for the crates. But i will just wait for some other skins in the future.

Any way good luck people on your crates & fly safe !

One thing to consider is that The Shipyard can drop Implants. I’ve had a High-Grade, Mid-Grade, and 2x Low-Grades drop so far, it’s a nice little bonus.

Oh and we used a little officer mods. KIDDING! We used a lot of officers mods, A LOT! Because we don’t :censored: around in low-sec.

I have just under 5000 points, I've done mainly the shipyard thing because you get a +1 even if you don't get the loot but are present in the site when the loot is taken, but it is feeling like a boring grind, So I've done about 40 of the shipyard sites and I get mostly those Serpentis capital chip things that are standard and I have had 1 mid grade implant, but yes you have to pretty much drop everything you are already doing in order to do the event.

I'ts been confirmed that you get a Dread BPC (1 Run) if you hit the 50k mark, apparently someone sold theirs for 2billion so you have to determine if that amount of boring grind is for you to get 2b, I personally am aiming for the 25k container, it still means I have to get about 750 points (so approx 7 shipyards) a night for the entire remaining length of the event to get that... and I am not sure if I have the patience.
