Wanted to vote but have to create an account to vote sadly. Wish I could just pay them off with aurum to let my vote slide in a bit.

Since EVE is a sandbox game and we the players make the game what it is. Doesn't that mean we should get the award?
What exactly do we get if EVE wins?!

Also, I think that I'd be better if EVE won next years game of the year. Because this year wasn't that great for EVE. Unless you only mean the last 2 months maybe.

I don't understand why these trolls always think they're so clever yet fail to even grasp the basic concepts of how this particular game gives you game time.

Irrelevant.

He/she is still posting on the forum of a game he/she does not like. if no longer like a game and do not play anymore i do not post on their forum, i move on. Staying around on a forum just to complain when you're suposedly no longer bothering with the game any more is just sad.

You will find this is an exceptionally common behavior in all the MMOs.

People get burned out / angry / nerfed / < place whatever deal breaker it made them quit > and take it personal, take it as an insult on the huge time and money they poured in the quitted MMO. Therefore they feel entitled to talk it out loud and show everyone else.

If you think about it, it's not far different from getting a terrible service / food at a restaurant and tell everyone you know. You sure will not "bother any more" yet you feel you have to tell others about it.

actually is more akin to getting bad food/service at a restaurant, making another reservation, sitting down at the table, ordering food then talking to the people next to your table about how crappy the service is and how no one should come to this restaurant.

I has all the eve inactivity

No it just means the people who don't do it are soulless and passionless automatons who have a hard time connecting emotionally to things. I joke ofcourse, but only halfhartedly. If I didn't give a ****, have connected emotionally with the game and people playing the game or want things to change for the better, I would just pack my things and move on when the fun stops. I do that all the time on some things and many games, but when you've invested yourself in to something and created those precious connections, it's hard to just cold-bloodedly cut them and move on without saying a word.

I think forming those connections is just much easier and more likely to occur when playing an MMO simply due to the nature of how MMOs and their communities work, so it's to be expected that people aren't just going to go out quietly when the hype and good times didn't materialize or start to turn sour after the initial new MMO smell wears off.

Best Hybrid MMO: League of Legends Lol (at least WoT is currently runner-up)
Rising Star Award: The Secret World Lol (people are still banking on FailCom MMOs... wat)
Most Innovative: Rift, runner-up: TOR LolLolLol (Oh my sides... WoW clones, "most innovative")
Most Anticipated: GW2 — Fair enough, I actually agree.
2011 Game of the Year: EVE — Good.

Even when I'm buttmad over the latest expansion/nerf/getting podded by meanies/whatever, I still vote for EVE. It is the only online game ever made in the entire history of the universe that still seems exciting to me after having played it on and off for a long while. The adrenaline, the violence, trolls trolling trolls in space, the sense of mystery, the sense that anything is possible... it's all still there.

WHY WOULD I EVER VOTE FOR EVE??????

There is going to have to be some major changes in Eve before I will ever again spend one dime on it or before I will ever give Eve a positive review on any game review board.

Please quit eve, and give me your stuff. You obviously do not like this game and should not be here.

So black and white with some people. Try being more nuanced.

I have invested a ton of time in this game and have build up good relationships with many mates. This is the MMO entertainment service to which I have chosen to subscribe. But would I recommend the EVE entertainment service to a friend? It would be a very qualified recommendation at-best.

The Crucible release made a big difference in how I view CCP and EVE -- positively for the most part. The swing towards customer-focus is most welcome.

Unfortunately, many of the key principals that have, in the past, screwed subscribers are still positions to harm the IP (Greyscale and Soundwave, in particular). And CCP's hubris in publicizing their participation in this award is telling. Will those same egos in the executive suite be able to maintain the humility and customer-focus through the release of DUST 514 and beyond?

I could never put forth EVE and CCP in a predominantly good light for 2011. There were so many egregious AND AVOIDABLE mistakes made that really ****** over (or pissed off) significant numbers of subscribers that no company treating paying customers in such a manner should be given a free trophy.

CCP needs a full year of Excellence (see what I did there Hilmar?) to earn a "of the year" award.

+++++++ I have never shed a tear for a fellow EVE player until now. Mark “Seleene” Heard's Blog Honoring Sean "Vile Rat" Smith.

and yet here you are with an active account posting on the EVE forums ... Roll

And yet my game time is paid with somebody else's money via Plex paid for with isk I scammed out of the Zero Alliances.

I suppose if your point is it is all a scam, you're right.

Take a look at these two links and tell me it isn't all a scam for anyone that pays real cash for this mess.

I felt this needed repeating, during the Incarna debacle while many of us where looking for other games I came to realise the popular mmo review sites are nothing more then "this new game is great buy it, that game is great buy it, our old friends at "random-mmo" are great buy it.

I voted for Eve BECAUSE of the protests.

What other game could those mass protests have happened? And actually had an impact on CCP's dev team. I guarantee you if WoW players tried to do a protest in-game like that, the server would be shut down and10-year-olds every where would be crying!

Yep, what other MMO publishing company listens to its subscribers, albeit almost too late. But better late then never.

You missed the point. Whether they pay a monthly fee or pay through PLEX or with ISK funded PLEX they are ACTIVE in EVE Online, posting on the forums, participating.

I am always amused enough that somebody can work up the energy to post this - to the point of indicating they would not give the game a positive review:

And yet maintain the interest to remain active. If I had that type of feelings about a video game, I'd certainly stop feeding the developer revenue! Be that through PLEX or VISA.

It seems stupid to me.

The point of this thread was "Do I vote for Eve or not? Replying to my post by commenting on whether I am "active" in Eve was never the issue. I guess you can't read plain Emglish, that seems stupid to me, so I guess we are even.

Excuse the guy if he has a wallet full of isk left that can only be used for Plex game time and he hopes that by posting comments CCP might make improvements.

No, I'll just continue to spend wallet isk on Plex and rant on the forums for the satisfaction of getting under your skin. How's that work for ya?

Actually, the point of the thread was Gromillia sharing the voting tally. The point of your post was to indicate you would not vote for EVE Online. But, if you read carefully I was talking to Valei Khurelem about the point he/she made and using you as an example. It really isn't that difficult.

But, I'm guessing reading comprehension is an acquired skill.

It's okay though. You can prance about pretending to be an internet tough guy for your witty repartee if that makes you feel accomplished.
