Wow.Shocked Thanks, lots to investigate there. Once I get it sorted out I'll be back with fitting questions about my Imicus. Explore and fight. Fight and Explore. That's the life for me. Thanks to all again.

There's a lot less variation for an imicus than a tristan, a place to start would be

high slots:
Core Probe Launcher I (8x core scanner probes)
Prototype Cloaking Device I
empty slot

mid:
Microwarp drive
Data Analyzer
Relic Analyzer
cargo scanner

low:
intertial stabalizer
nanofiber internal structure x2

rigs:
small gravity capacitor upgrade x2

The ones I put in bold I wouldn't mess with, period. "Sisters Core Scanner Probes" do significantly better than regular ones, but are also more expensive, so do with that what you will.

Some people don't bother to do data sites, since they pay worse than combat. I also don't use cargo scanners (the idea behind that is you can scan the can to see what's in it before actually hacking it. That way you don't waste time hacking cans that are worthless or empty).

Some other options for mid slots are a combo of these:

Scan Acquisition Array
Scan Rangefinding Array
Scan Pinpointing Array

They all make it quicker to scan sites down, so might be worth replacing the data analyzer and/or cargo scanner with. I'd personally buy the 3 mid slots I listed above as well as one of each of the scan arrays, mix and match until you find what works best for you.

Low slots basically fit for agility. When exploring you have no tank, if you get caught, you will die. So you watch for anyone getting close to you and warp out before they can catch you. Because of that, use your low slots to make your align time is as low as possible, which lets you get into warp and escape easier.

Don't change the rigs. For scanning, they are basically the only option out there.

This is exactly what I went with except I opted for Scan Rangefinder Array l instead of Cargo Scanner. It was delightfully cheap to fit! Thanks!

P.S. I didn't take the cargo scanner because I would have no idea what whatever I was looking at would be worth, or does it say on the item itself? I'll probably still skip it at first as I need all the help I can get with scanning, I sucked at it in the tutorial.

No matter where you go...there you are.

No, honestly, knowing what loot is valuable or not either comes from experience or by research (looking up prices on https://eve-central.com/ or the like). Once you have done a few dozen sites, you will just know what is worth more.

Also, remember you are paying for one training queue, but three character slots. that means you can start two new characters, don't train anything and park them in major market hubs (Jita, Amarr, Rens, Dodixie, Hek, in roughly that order of how big they are) and log into your other two characters to check prices without flying to a hub.

In the future, you can train those two slots to do trading/hauling, PI/etc for you without paying for extra characters. Again, one training queue, but three characters is what your subscription gets you.

Back to scanning, this won't help you, but I spend most of my time in wormholes (anyone can attack you at any time with no concord, and there's no local chat to see who is there with you) so I like to finish sites completely, simply because a half-finished site is a sign of me as a target to kill.

Someone who does some decent exploration in HS/LS will have to help you with tactics. I really don't do enough there to talk strategy.
