i am a noob, i got no clue what i am doing, any help i am offered is a scam. anytime i mine i get ganked by 8yr old toons.
a new event started today, nice new shiny screen for scope that actually does nothing. how do i find a serpentis mining and research base? it is not on my menus anywhere. so i go back to mining. want to guess the agee of the toon that ganked me this time?
so i started this game for some fun. what i got is a new carreer to grind at while cowards who can't fight people with guns sink me again and again and YOU CONTINUE TO LET THIS HAPPEN.

this is the reason noobs do not stay, your game is set up to entertain the old timejaded players. you only want newbro's, as you put it at fanfest, to be more fodder.

i suggest instead of hiring a psycologist you find a way to stop noobs getting ganked everyday. i am going to the competition because apparently you get a choice if people want to fight you.

so to recap, you could have had my money but you failed

you know cats dont like water? well they are curious, very curious and may fall into the water, but after that the cat knows not to fall in the water again because he knows he doesn't like it. In fact the cat stays away from places where there is water and he wont fall in the water.

You try to expand your personal frustration to "noobs", but it's still your personal frustration. It's evident by your post that you don't have the proper mind set.

Improper mindset: "Something bad has happened to me, more than once, This game sucks, the developers should do something! To the forums!!!"!!!

Proper EVE mindset: "Something bad happened to me more than once, I must have done something wrong, or there is something, some crucial bit of knowledge or personal skill or tactics, that I'm missing. I'll find out what it is and correct the problem.... no screw that, i'll find out what it is and then exact some revenge on the kinds of people who are doing these things to me, then I'll teach other noobs how to prosper as well".

Some people have (or can develop, after enough of getting their butts kicked) the proper way of thinking for this game or they don't. Decide which on of the above types you are.

Being a Miner myself i got ganked in null a few times lost ratting ships so instead of crying on fourms about how it sucks being killed i went out and did something about it,

Now alls i do is kill kill and more kill. i dont have the best killboard but it allows me to make even some of the older vets get salty :)

What is a content creator? please explain because you are also a content creator Big smile what i mean by my comment, if you keep getting killed then move system, surely that isn't too difficult to comprehend?

Why are you even mining in highsec in an Endurance? Shocked

Ganking noobs with 8 y.o. toons constitues the ultimate reassurance those old players are not risk adverse like the rest of Eve. You should always give them gf in local and applaud their l33t peeVpee skillz.

This character has far less than 10m skill points and whilst I'm not the best at staying alive, I'm doing fairly well.

Try different things instead of losing ships in the same way and blaming other folk for it.

EDIT: I'm also using a mining ship.

Thank you for confirming what I already knew. Rather than take a moment and think about your problem (and it is your problem), you focus on us.

As for content creation, come to Vale of the Silent, I and four thousand of my best friends will sure whip up some content for you.

Such is the nature of the game, if you don't like it then nobody is stopping you from leaving; if you're in any doubt about the nature of the game that you're playing then you should read the following statement from the CCP community manager.

CCP Falcon wrote:
Okay, so what follows is entirely my personal opinion.

It's not a case of not "catering to the tearfilled entitled", it's a case of us staying true to the core of what EVE was built on.

Some of the people complaining in this thread have valid points about the fact that they don't feel safe. Simple fact of the matter is, that you're not suppose to feel safe in New Eden.

Eve is not a game for the faint hearted. It's a game that will chew you up and spit you out in the blink of an eye if you even think about letting your guard down or becoming complacent.

While every other MMO starts off with an intro that tells you you're going to be the savior of the realm, holds your hand, protects you, nurtures your development and ultimately guides you to your destiny as a hero along with several other million players who've had the exact same experience, EVE assaults you from the second you begin to play after you create a character, spitting you out into a universe that under the surface, is so complex that it's enough to make your head explode.

The entire design is based around being harsh, vicious, relentless, hostile and cold. It's about action and reaction, and the story that unfolds as you experience these two things.

True, we're working hard to lower the bar of entry so that more players can enjoy EVE and can get into the game. Our NPE (New Player Experience) is challenging, and we're trying to improve it to better prepare rookies for what lies out there, but when you start to play eve, you'll always start out as the little fish in the big pond.

The only way to grow is to voraciously consume what's around you, and its your choice whether that happens to be New Eden's abundant natural resources, or the other people who're also fighting their way to the top.

EVE is a playing experience like no other, where every action or reaction resonates through a single universe and is felt by players from all corners of the word. There are no shards here, no mirror universes, no instances and very few rules. If you stumble across something valuable, then chances are someone else already knows where you are, or is working their way toward you and you better be prepared to fight for what you've discovered.

EVE will test you from the outset, from the very second you undock and glimpse the stars, and will take pleasure from sorting those who can survive from those who'd rather curl up and perish.

EVE will let you fight until you collapse, then let you struggle to your feet, exhausted from the effort. Then when you can see the light at the end of the tunnel it'll kick you flat on your ass in the mud again and ask you why you deserve to be standing. It'll test you against every other individual playing at some point or another, and it'll ask for answers.

Give it an answer and maybe it'll let you up again, long enough to gather your thoughts. After a few more steps you're on the ground again and it's asking more questions.

EVE is designed to be harsh, it's designed to be challenging, and it's designed to be so deep and complex that it should fascinate and terrify you at the same time.

Corporation, Alliances and coalitions of tens of thousands have risen and fallen on these basic principles, and every one of those thousands of people has their own unique story to tell about how it affected them and what they experienced.

That's the beauty of EVE. Action and reaction. Emergence.

Welcome to the most frightening virtual playground you'll ever experience.

Everybody in Eve is a content creator, willing or not.

You are content for every other player out there, just as they are content for you.

TL;DR all of your complaints are about things that are in the game by design, or are explicitly sanctioned game-play that has emerged from that design.

Can I have your corpse?

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I'm actually happy that this game is unforgiving to new players. Players incapable of dealing with the complexity and/or hardcore nature of the game, such as yourself, are quickly filtered out.

Part of me thinks the OP is a troll, though, because his poor grammar and spelling belies the fact that he bothered spacing paragraphs and is using the forums at all. And he's talking about the Eve fanfest despite the fact that he's a new player.

What space are you mining in? (Hint: if it's HS it's not as safe as you think) What is your ship fit? What does your corp tell you?

If you do a little Google-fu you can and will find info that will keep you safer. It's not meant to be easy or simple, but you can build up decent defenses. It starts with finding a half-decent corp too. Even corps of noobs can band together and figure out something.

**** happens. Dust yourself off and find something else to do in-game for a bit. It happened to me, it's happened to a lot of us. We're still here.
