I sometimes wonder why I even bother dicking around with a hundred market orders. Grinding missions. Grinding Incursions. Why bother. We have Joe Blo who will just plex his way out of it. Yes, I understand this is a video game and you judge the value of said game on the amount of fun it offers; but Eve is different in that we have the single shard mentality. I believe PLEX distorts that reality in addition to bots being a part of the game. Yes, I recognize bots exist in all games but it should be pretty evident that bots in Eve affect the game much differently than a bot in WoW. I know it's somewhat dishonest to say Eve has become (and almost became) a pay-to-win type of game. Regardless though this thread gives at least a little plausibility to the idea; which for me ruins the "don't fly what you can't afford to lose" mentality. It doesn't kill it. It just neuters it.

WoW holds your hand until end game, and gives you a cookie whether you win or lose. EVE not only takes your cookie, but laughs at you for bringing one in the first place...

I thought supercap pilots were all alts trained specifically for that purpose. I mean, nobody is crazy enough to train on their main for a ship that you can never dock, never leave, and never move without a cyno. Right? Right??

I know a lot of 5+ year vets too, and of those the overwhelming majority who aren't bittervets have the (SP-oriented) goal of being able to fly every subcap with perfect skills. Cap warfare has been **** for as long as I've been playing game, 2007ish. I'm truly amazed that people still expect it be some end-game panacea.
