Courier jobs

I notice that when I do public courier jobs that the person accepting the job is not the person that does the delivery, So I guess in order to keep the deliverer safe (ish) the person that accepts the courier passes the job to someone else (an alt) to complete. Is this just a matter of recontracting the “package”

Also can anyone share any best practises when doing public courier jobs (high sec only).

Don't.
Just Don't.
If you really want to be a space trucker, talk to Red Frog or some such haulage operator.

I was only thinking of it on my alt when I am actually going to another place anyway, not to do it as a "career in eve", so If I was going from Jita to amarr for eg and I had free space to take a few public couriers with me.

People who haul for a living will generally have a contract ALT and one or more freighter ALTs in NPC corporations. It allows the contracting organization to ignore wardecs. It also makes life a bit more challenging for pirates since the pilot who accepts the contract will not be the pilot who picks it up and it's quite likely it could be transferred to a 3rd pilot for delivery.

Jita to Amarr, as an example, you say?

Down one of the most heavily camped pipes in the game? Haven of gankers, wardeccers and your general hisec hive of scum and villainy?

Learn how to do the MWD/Cloak trick.

Generally, if I have 'spare' space in a hauler, I'm asking my corp/alliance mates if they need anything, or I'm filling out the cargohold with structure or jump fuel some description.

I agree that it is a camped route, although I don’t think Niarja is as bad as Uedama (perhaps it is the times I am online) I always fit my Freighter with 3x T2 reinforced bulkheads anyway so it has the max tank that it can (unless I go for faction bulkheads which may well attract gankers). It was just an idea, it would still be handy to find out best practice tips if occasionally doing that.

I have tried doing that MWD trick (although of course wont work in a freighter) but I cannot master it at all.

I would always recomend having your hauler tanked as much as possible. If you can, haul in a freigheter, even if you could fit it in an Itty 5. But realy, max tank is the most important.

Just remember, if you get blown up, you don't just lose your ship. You also lose the collateral.

Max Tank!
