Looking for High Sec Merc Alliance

I'm pretty much a one man operation with just a couple others in my corp, however, I'd like to grow to some degree but not past 20 active, skilled PVP pilots, not counting intel alts.

I'm looking to join a solid Merc alliance that will enable me to learn what I dont know and perfect what I do have experience with.

Lately I've just been popping targets off Jita gate. Thats getting boring. Prior to that I would try to pick fights in Osmon by popping MTU's.

I want to engage EVE by learning from a solid alliance.

I run two accounts on a dual screen spread. Malakye flies my attack ships while my alt runs either an EOS Armor booster or a Guardian Logi.

I'm interested in running intel, scouts, whatever helps the alliance. I'm not opposed to earning my way in, I just dont want to be with a giant corp/alliance where newcomers easily get lost in the shuffle.

Personally, I'm 38 years old, from Kentucky, family man and self employed. I'm by no means a guru on anything, but I've done a lot of things and learned a great deal on my own. I just want to take things to the next level.

I've applied to Vendetta and flat out declined. To be expected I suppose. I'm looking to hang my hat on a serious, active and fun corp/alliance I can learn from and lets face it, blow stuff up!

Thanks.

Nothing has changed about my intel service. I have many alts, and my corp mates have alts, etc. I have alts in corps right now that aren't on either of my primary API's.

I just established the Voynich Merc Alliance through one of my other alts. (That is Industry focused, Station trading etc)

I never expected the Voynich Intel Report services to take off immediately. Everything in EVE takes time...

Nobody would let me in so I've begun doing things myself.

I would have been a significant asset to any alliance I was interested in but I gave up trying to join them. My char is too new, not a big enough killboard, etc. Its all fine, no hard feelings.

Merc corps have never been very into "teaching" new players things - they have shiny killboards to protect. In general you have to learn elsewhere, and then if you get good enough some day they'll maybe let you join.

You *might* have had a chance had you applied as an individual noob, but certainly not with an entire corporation they have no direct control over.

Yeah, and I understand that.

I'm learning to take Killboards more and more seriously.

I launched an Alliance and started a new division of Voynich Decoded, Alpha which will be strictly for merc pilots with at least 90% efficiency. Newer pilots can start in Voynich Decoded and work their way into Alpha and such the Alliance.

We'll see how that works out.

A fairly new player with 7 mil sp and a killboard appropriate for a newbie who had been active in eve uni applied to join marmite. In 2014 usually this would have been turned away from Marmite (then the biggest most established high sec group). However this young eve player was accepted in despite his inexperience. This was because he had been extremely active in eve uni fighting (successfully) against the evil marmites and even leading small ganks against them.

If you think you're good enough prove it to whoever you want to join. Either join their current targets or DEC them directly. Good luck

Dec BAW and make them look like fools. Most groups will take you in after a successful month long BAW campaign.

Thank you for that. I've thought about this. Vendetta doesnt really fly solo much at all though which would be my issue with that. From what I see, at least the main corp all seem to log into eve about the same time, fleet up and hunt.

I'm experimenting a lot on Test server right now with various fits and learning a lot there as well.

We'll see what I can come up with.

At this point I'm just recruiting PVP corps into Voynich Merc Alliance and Voynich Decoded/Alpha.

If I could get a solid handful of pilots with proper ships and experience, I'm sure I can establish some exciting battles. I'm pretty good at hunting people down, knowing their habits, where they go etc. I just dont have the numbers to effectively capitalize on this yet.

Literally embarrassed vandettas core group with 12 destroyers and a Drake. You don't need some amazing comp just a solid bait and patience. Join a corp they are at war with and help em. On the down side if you embarrass yourself your really not getting in Evil

Honestly, I think you are trying to do too much at the same time. This will lead to failure.

If you want to join the mercs, how about flying with them for a while? Dec some of the corps they have decced and assist on those that decced them. I would check out BAW at least. I wouldn't bother with Vendetta, since they decced my corp and I actively hunted for them in highsec while my bros chilled in lowsec and WH space. I did come across one, scared the hell out of him and he escaped by jumping gate while I had him engaged.

I don't fault the guy and he did what I would have done in the same situation. But as one other poster said, they can control an invidiual noob but not a corporation. If it truly what you want, have alts hold your corp/alliance and you go in. Then as they warm up to you, suggest that you bring in your corporation/alliance and the plans you have.

If they don't like it, leave and wardec their ass. That is what I would do. Cool

Lots of good info here but I've definitely taken a turn to focus on one thing.

Originally, I started by wardeccing mission running corps but rarely found one solo and I had some fairly new players barely able to fly covert ops ships let alone much else, so it was difficult to engage those we found. Then, one of the CEO's challenged me in a way which set me on a path of tracking his corps every move. He began seeing me everywhere, as did his corp mates. At one point I literally bumped his ship out of cloak. I also knew that his mates were all within 2 to 3 jumps away and a fight would take too long as he was in a Rattlesnake and I was in a Stratios. More than enough time for his mates to come to his aid. However, it spawned the idea of selling intell reports on corps. I got excited, made big plans for it, setup our site and all I got was grief.

So, I decided to try and join some more established merc corps hoping I could bring my corp into the alliance when appropriate. Nobody would have me for various reasons but most of which I'm sure stemmed from them being fearful I would just spy on them and sell a report which, wouldn't have happened anyway. Wherever this character is, hes/I am loyal to. But nobody could know that, so, no harm, no fowl.

I have since decided to establish my own Merc Alliance. Voynich Merc Alliance
An effort to bring together high sec merc corps/pilots to share in war dec expenses while increasing applicable targets for all.

I have the alliance for corps with high efficiency. I have Voynich Deccoded Alpha for solo pilots with high efficienccy and Voynich Decoded for newcommers to PVP working on getting their efficiency up.

I'm good with that. Just need to get more players who want to partake in such activities.
