Hello All,

just a quick check but, didn't the forums used to be where discussion of the game took place? Seems that in the last year it has disintegrated into a non-stop slanging match instead.

I've been lurking in the forums for the last week or so, and not once have I seen anyone provide any examples or evidence for a point of view - it all revolves around "lol stfu noob - I lov ur tearz" or "DIAF!" or "I hate this thing wot you lieke, so I hate you k?" It's hopeless and totally unhelpful at a time when the DEV's are clearly trying to find a new way forward.

Honestly, if any of you actually enjoyed the game you'd be coming up with a way to help those with questions rather than insulting them. If you really thought you had a better way of doing things you'd be in features and discussions or the CSM area, rather than here saying one-liners like "I h8's local/cloaky/allianzes/blobz dev rsponse pls nw k tnks".

Whatever, I hope this all works out as there is simply no other game out there like EvE. But's it's dying of a thousand small cuts at the moment and the playerbase - at lease that portion represented on these forums - seem to me to be of zero help to anyone, and in some cases appear to have an account purely to troll other players.

Meh. Best of luck - I'll be paying my sub to fly in spaceships and keeping my fingers crossed.

There is great stuff to be had in other sections. Warfare and Tactics is a great spot for example. General Discussion....not so much. Big smile

Apparently my work here is done and I for one can now finally ride into the sunset to face other challenges.

What happened?

That an emergent game for 30k subscriptions went more mainstream and got 10 times as many.

The more mainstream and aged a game gets, the more the baddies, trolls and other human garbage infect it.

EGD is specifically for "lol stfu noob - I hate this thing wot you lieke"/ bitter vet slinging match... it's been like that since 2003.

If you want to discuss helpful game improvements you AREN'T even supposed to post that here, that is for the "Features and Ideas" forum.

Or if you want to help other players go lurk in the "EVE New citizens" forum.

Everything in its rightful place.

EGD is only for the experienced forum warriors - going in here without enough buffer/logistic support and-or the knowledge to protect yourself you will soon find yourself downgraded to an egg. Scrambled and popped.

People are usually nicer in features and ideas. (unless your idea is truley terribad, ie. "Mining ships need to have more ehp then titans")

People don't like it when you are to lazy to do 5 minutes of your own research and just bug them about it instead, Had you done your research and were still confused about something, and posted in the right section of the forum, then you would have got better replies.

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

The internet has given every moron in the western world a keyboard and complete anonymity. Some of them also play EVE.

I know sometimes it's difficult to realize just how much you spend on incidental things each month or year, but seriously, EVE is very cheap entertainment compared to most things... If you are a smoker, smoke one less pack a week and pay for EVE, with money left over to pick up a cheap bundle of flowers for the EVE widow upstairs.

How dare they also not show you the respect you deserve, despite being the most recent in a long line of people who also know exactly where a post belongs, forum descriptions placed just below a forum and sometimes in the forum name be damned!

By the way, since we're already talking, do you want to buy a rifter? I've got the cheapest rifters in Metropolis. If you can find a cheaper rifter, buy it!

At least we aren't the League of Legends GD yet, where a person posts something only for it to fall off the first page two minutes later, and then for ANOTHER person to post EXACTLY THE SAME THING after the first post is on page 2.

Seriously, those forums are awful. If it's not on page 1 the thread died.

Need stuff moved? Push Industries will handle it. Serving highsec, lowsec and nullsec - and we do it faster and more reliably than anyone else. Ingame channel: PUSHX

A forum is only as good as its mods. You need to be patient, even tempered and unbiased. You also have to understand that it is "work" with no end in sight. You can not make things better, you can only try to keep it from getting worse. You are alwyas fighting gravity to keep your forum from hitting bottom. You cant give up.
