News reaches Gutter Press, that a Rogue Drone has been cast for the upcoming season of the Impetus holo-comedy series "Scrambled Eggs", a decision that has caused upset throughout the industry !

Unit L-18546, an entity originally residing somewhere in the Drone Regions, has been hired by Impetus to play the role of "Sexy Rogue Drone Dreadnought", in the popular entertainment series focusing on the comic exploits of a group of capsuleers.

In response, the Caille Holo-Actors Guild has released a statement condemning this decision, claiming that Rogue Drones are ineligible to perform in Federation-produced holo-productions, as they do not pay Guild fees, and are thus not registered, unlike human, holographic virtual, or conventional drone actors.

An Impetus executive involved in the production of "Scrambled Eggs", refuted the Guild claims.
"Unit L-18546, or as she prefers to be called 'Elle', is perfect for the role. This is nothing more than the Guild refusing to move with the times."

Industry critics have suggested that this may be a scheme to build hype for the upcoming season, as capsuleer-based series have suffered a fall in audience share in recent months, with several productions doing so poorly that several episodes remain unaired, months after production.

Gutter Press was able to interview a number of people, to get their opinions on the issue.
"Oh, Elle's really sweet, when you talk to her", said another cast member "I mean, sure, she's a 2km long warship, but she has a really adorable personality"
"Rogue drone actresses ? They're not making Scrambled Eggs into an erotic holo-series, are they ? I hate it when producers do that", said a Quafe vending machine repairwoman.
"I Look Forward To Working With Elle", said a drone actress working for Impetus.

Gutter Press agents will keep an eye on these developments in the entertainment world.

Is anybody else concerned about the fact that Elle is apparently a rogue drone dread? Will we be seeing Elle's extended capital family in belts?

We had such hope back then.

The Drones were supposed to help Humanity create paradise.

We were wrong. We were so wrong...

I can't see a way back anymore. Eventually it's going to be them vs us....

I am slightly more concerned about the nature of the role that she will be playing.

Or we could try to encourage them to go colonise someplace with resources and far enough away from us and then steer clear away from them?

Far as I see it they had turned into, well, hive-minded beasts with the triple goals of survival, prosperity and proliferation. If we can segregate them and kill any drone that crosses over to our side as quickly as we can detect them (up to and including outright culling off any hives on our side of the border), they might be encouraged to expand away rather than towards us. It's not like there's a lack of resources for them if they expand away from our borders.

Though the question would be what happens if they found something really valuable and our species want those for ourselves? It's not like we could trade with hives of stinging insects or anything. Don't think they even understand the concept.

I know the Jove were never much into AI, but can't we just give them to the SOCT and like, have them train them into some enormous hyperintelligent megaconsciousness that behaves according to Society ethics and I don't know, turn the Rogue Drone menace into a benevolent demigod or something?

I believe the Federation corporations are the ones responsible for the Rogue Drones?

Yes Federation corporations did create the technology but the other infected it

Who is this 'Other'?

And far as we do know, the Rogue Drones were what happened when the Federation tried to create strong AI. First batch went rogue. Second batch researched on illegally (was it the second batch?) in some hidden lab isolated from just about anyone else also went rogue (Took awhile for the sudden emergence of Rogue Drones in that region being traced back to this lab). This had nothing to do with Jovians and more to do with the drones gaining some kind of sentience or self-awareness and deciding to disobey orders in favour of their own survival. An understandably animal instinct.

((These are some lore bits about rogue drones to start with. Nowhere does it seem to indicate the Other's involvement in their genesis. The Other only emerged some time shortly before the Empyrean Age novel with the resurrection of Sarum Jamyl.

http://wiki.eve-inspiracy.com/index.php?title=Arek%27Jaalan:_Rogue_Drones
http://wiki.eve-inspiracy.com/index.php?title=Rogue_Drone_History

Also, as far as everyone but Sarum Jamyl and Marcus and the SOCT are concerned, there is no 'Other'. Also the Broker is an urban legend far to anyone's but Heth's and Ishukone leadership's knowledge))

What? "Sexy Rogue Drone Dreadnought"?

Have rogue drones developed sexual reproduction? I thought they were just constructing each other. I don't imagine how it will work for machines.

But in anyway, I have only one thing to say about this situation.

Well, thanks for advice, but in fact it pretty much does. Just peek inside my afterburner~

Kimmy's not wrong here. Fire can occur in a vaccume so long as it has fuel to keep it going.

But we do not use conventional 'fire' in our thrusters either. Minmatar uses plasma. Amarr utilises fusion reaction to propel their ships. Federation uses the thrust of ejected ions. The State uses magpulse.
