I just watched a video on youtube of the "New Docking/Undocking Transition" and immediately thought to myself I hope this is an optional feature

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLTdqifvLLQ

So is this going to be optional like most of the camera features?

It's a simple animation that has no effect on window funcionality. Your gameplay experience will not at all be change by this update.

There is literally no logical explanation for wanting to disable it.

In the video the ship is facing backwards once docked with the front of the ship facing the back of the station,This in and of itself warrants an optional check box imo

logically thats how you would dock, straight in. then when you undock the platform would rotate and you;d go the other way. i don't see a problem. most people park there car head first, so... what exactly is your issue? it would be weird for a ship going into the station head first to dock backwards.

Looks good apart from probably bug that camera shows briefly docking platform then turns towards incoming ship. Too bad we cant get rid of that short black screen when moving from space to station.

I also do not see any point making it optional as you can clearly use all interface while camera is showing your ship flying in.

Also CCP, make tiny pod fly out of the ship when moving to CQ section. Bear

... ooh and also CCP, make little ships or drones/cranes unloading your ship when you moving stuff from ship to station. Lol

Looks good to me.

When the going gets tough the Gankers get their CSM rep to change mechanics in their favour.

Before-
Player clicks undock.......Ship undocks.

Now-
Player clicks undock.......Ship undocks and slowly zooms out. Roll

Meanwhile, things like custom tracking position, un-even camera scrolling speed and wacky zooming issues go ignored.

...... why not.

Maybe in 2047 we get full immersive docking w/o teleporting into hangar, who knows.

That'd be impossible without making every station the size of an entire planet. At this point the amount of assets we have crammed inside of stations is just silly compared to what CCP was probably expecting back in 2003.

As an example, I can't remember the other pipe up from Misaba to Amarr (not Mista), but I once saw the reds who hang out there undock several dozen carriers, and even 2 of them looked too big for the inside of that station.Lol

That's because stations are bigger on the inside. Cool

Dockikng game players and suspect baiters will assume this slows them down and demand to shut it off.

Predictable.

They're up against a state change lag, so rather than do the boring bit they currently are, they are putting in the animations. As long as my changed state stays the same amount of time, I could not care less about what is happening on the screen.
