It is sad you feel that way because I thought my post was generally supportive of your endeavor.

You need to realize that the new people reading this thread, people who don't know you, are left thinking - "This sounds brilliant, almost too good to be true" and we all know what that means in Eve! It is then followed by a troll fest from the haters. Your statements that previous versions of Hub Zero all failed because of the actions of others, simply isn't believable. It is like the Brexit debates again, two totally polarized points of view, surely the truth is somewhere in the middle?

Thus, by offering an explanation for previous problems, an explanation that yes is detrimental to you, but which some people will be able to work with. I'm actually doing you a service; people will recognize this as a genuine attempt at a balanced view and may decide to give it a go. What you need most of all is bodies on the ground. Bodies without grand expectations, whom become disillusioned and quit after a few days. People need to understand that you can be a difficult personality to get along with and are willing to be subservient to you and if they can’t do that, stay at a distance where you won’t irritate each other.

Major, I can see that somehow I have become your main reason for why this hasn't worked. FYI, 6 years ago you were invited to a very dangerous area of space where good pvp'ers wanted nothing more than to destroy your ships. It was very pvp orientated at that time and I believe I tried my best to explain the situation on the forum and in private convos before interested parties arrived.

You want the truth? Ok here it is. Anyone who is alone in Stain will have a hard time advancing unless they are patient and happy to adapt to employing an under the radar style of play while group numbers are low. US time zone guys won't get hardly any bother due to lots of Stain residents being in the EU time zone. When we have numbers we can do stuff like secure the undock for our blues and ensure a security presence.

I believe you need to think on this a bit more, there's more to it than just "everything is Aaron's fault". From my perspective Stain has been almost bare for a very long time now, the reasons for this are beyond my control which is a fact you must recognise.

People are free to come here and not be directly involved with me and there won't be a problem, all I will say is that it will be hard if you don't have a careful and patient approach. People are also free to work closely with me if they are unsure how to go about getting a foothold around here, the choice is 100% theirs. The only real mandatory things are the blue setting and being in channels and mailing lists.

Let's not forget Major, I did offer you resources for you to lead the way on Hub Zero, It was genuine and you completely ignored me.

Major, forget what I said on my earlier post about me not wanting to blue you. The door is open, I'd be happy to support you as a blue as long as you are cool. I will come in your fleets as a wingman and do exactly as I'm asked. I'm prepared to forget the past and try to advance this. No more bullshit ok Major, you know what I'm talking about, please treat others as you would like to be treated and I will do the same. Give me a chance to show you that I have changed.

I'm going to leave it there until we chat or you post here again.

OP this sounds like a daring adventure, but i have some concerns. If you can address them it would help.

How many times have you tried this in the past?
Did you learn from your past experience?
Have you found a way to implement what you have learned?

And, do you need someone to haul your citadel to Stain?

Aaron,

Somehow we've lost the ability to rat in De Klein don't ask...

What are the stats in Stain about ratting etc.?

Stain is a great place to rat as it always has been, the -0.0 systems are great for higher quality belt loot and increased chance of True Sansha spawns, the 0.0 systems are still cool and I am suprised at how many combat sites you can scan out. Lots of relic sites, DED's, the Sansha missions are great very profitable. Even to this day I am still suprised more people aren't here making a living.

separate convo, I am suprised the management of Goonswarm haven't got any members coming to Stain in larger numbers, It really is cool here.

It would be so cool if lots of Goons came here and helped with Hub Zero. I think it would be a great opportunity for you guys to be pioneers of something new where the little guy could form a new respect for you. I've always found you very cool Orion please know that I am ready to assist you and your buddies if you chose to come here.

EDIT: There are about 20 systems where there have been over 800 npc kills (last 24hours), 24 systems where there's been over 400 NPC kills (last 24hours) and all the others are below 200 NPC's killed in last 24 hours. Still very bare in my opinion, some of the -0.0 systems have almost 2000 NPC kills in last 24 hours, There are still lots of systems with 0 NPC kills.

Some of the constellations hardly have any NPC kills. Hope this helps.

Hey Hellyeaz,

Sorry for the delay in replying I been real busy.

I have tried this around 6 or 7 times.

I have learned many things from past experiences about people, their needs, desires and attitudes. I am finding that if I adopt a more calm easy going kind of attitude people are more inclined to listen. I have learned that imposing on people rarely works and it is better to accept whatever help someone is prepared to give without complaining or being negative.

I have learned that people can be difficult and that there are ways of calmly dealing with these people without causing further problems.

It is hard to get pilots to come out of their comfort zone and live in Stain. I accept I can't do this alone and require the help of the brave pilots of Eve in order to move this forward. I understand that this isn't going to happen quickly and right now I'm simply looking for some daring and crazy pioneers to invest time and effort in Stain and lay a foundation, once this is done we can start looking at getting more casual players here.

Generally I am taking a more laid back and relaxed attitude toward this episode and I am pushing a "just guys chillin" mentality. I think this is the best way to implement what I have learned over the years. Eve should be fun and adventurous and I realise I have to relax and take things slowly and not get stressed if things don't go my way.

I have been doing some research on Citadels and I feel that because of the nature of what I am doing I need to postpone the purchase of one. I'd like to wait for a time where some blue agreements have been made, at the moment there is nobody mobilized to assist if the Citadel were to be attacked.

Once again, I cannot do this without the help of other pilots, this is as much your venture as it is mine. I'm sure we all understand that working together gets us further. Lets put this teamwork ethic into effect and see where it takes us.

I hope this remedies your concerns Hellyeaz, please let me know if there is anything you need further clarification on.

Best Regards,

Aaron

Hi,

I've had a look on other forums and I understand there is problems earning in hi sec relating to war decs and other game mechanics. I still feel that some people have the wrong impression about me and this venture and I would like to make a few things clear.

- Do not look at me as the guy in charge, I'd like to be one of the guys. I am not looking to impose anything other than a calm and friendly and fair way of doing things where no one is left out and important decisions that need making are made as a group.

- Due to logistics it is hard and risky to get JF here, I can offer daily worm hole routes to high or low sec.

- I plan to build t1 ships for our grinding so really we would just need to bring a T2 fitting for a few ships through the wormhole, this is still a viable way of operating due to the mechanics of wormholes being predictable.

- I am happy to keep this PVE only for a period of time, Stain is a great area for earning without war decs affecting your play

- Do not look at this as a corp or alliance it seriously is not, It's just a venture where people blue each other and enjoy the aspects of Eve.

- Try to be open minded for the beginning of the venture, have a think about using a mobile depot on your ship and cloaking up in a system with no station and using one of your character slots to create another frigate toon to do ammo runs to the station a couple of jumps away. This method has 100% worked for me and I have made a large amount of money due to the fact no one is bothered to do determined camps or any griefing tactics.

As I have said in other threads, I do not want to see any more people go long term afk from Eve, and I want to do whatever I can to at least stop a few noobs or experienced players from leaving. If you are tired of the Hi sec drama you really should give this a try. The only real risk is bringing a couple of T2 fits through a wormhole even then it should be fairly easy to avoid if you're in a cloaky ship.

Honestly, I could do with getting to know a few people on Eve and being more sociable. I know there must be a few crazy sci-fi fans out there prepared to try this. Big smile
