PVP contest arena in EVE

Good day. I'm one of old EVE fans.
And last update Citadel worry me. Trends telling me, what main point is on big alliances, not on solo players or small corporations.
And i'd like to offer add more content which is available and fun for everyone.
I want to see a PVP contest arena in EVE, with free fair fights for all, and with titles\pvp ranks and rates on fights.
For every ship class from frigat to mothership.
It will give clear pvp statistics for balance improvement and give lot of fun for players with any income.
Instead of lottery in trade hubs players can set rates on PVP fights.
And existing bounty hunter system give more fun and become more challenging if PVP contest winner with prize have bounty for oponent head. And I bet it require less resurses than Citadel.

Features and ideas section is where all the feature and ideas players want to suggest should go to. This idea has been suggested there alot. Go take a read of that section of the forum and see if you have anything to add to the discussions already there. x

Hello OP,

for a discussion about your idea look up the term "dojo" on the forums.
The short version is that the idea of instanced pvp, which is what I believe you are suggesting since you used the term "fair fights", received a lot of criticism. One of the points of critique being that "sandpark" doesn't actually work outside of marketing brochures.

New eden is an arena.

I have been very vocal on this topic when it was tabled as a goodbye troll from an outgoing dev some time ago and that episode of
Flaming-pants-on-head hysteria is still on record if you care to look for it.

Dojo something or other and i belive its archived in F&I.

I know a lot of other games, which have even different stats only for arena fair pvp, not like ingame unit stats.

You kids out there should realize. This place has been here for going on fourteen years. There isn't a buzzer or bell we don't already know about (DDO/WoW/SWTOR). If you like those things, go where they do those things. Some things aren't done here for the simple fact that

But you are asking for a change. If we had arenas, people start to sign up for them instead of roaming freely. This means there are less people to fight in PvP roams, which means less people roam and more people use arenas, becuase at least they get SOME kind of fight. This process happens over and over until the only practical way to get a fight that isn't ganking a hauler or miner (and let's be realistic, those aren't fights anyway) is to jump into an arena.

It's changing a fundamental aspect of the game.

I'm not so pessimistic. I think more people actually come in eve because of it.
Well, some one tell me even what it will change EVE in moba games direction.
And I'm telling you, if that bring peaples from moba games in EVE. HELL YES!

No such thing as a fair fight in EVE. By definition a fair fight would be entirely accidental since most fights are started by someone who thinks they have it all over on the other guy.

The only fair fight in existence would be same ship, same configuration, same everything, coming in from a distance and 'go'. In SFB this was called 'The Captains Game' and it was pretty fun until you realized that you were all roughly as good as each other and unless someone pulled off a master stroke, it came down to sheer luck.

So, while this all sounds good, it's actually better to treat LoSec systems as your 'arena' and go do your dastardly deeds there. You can try NullSec but...
