The new secondary lighting for boosters look really good. I must be in the minority that like the dock/undock camera, it adds a nice bit of immersion to docking rather than just appear in the hangar. The new hangar lighting looks good too, I like the grittier, less sterilized look it gives.

It really doesn't matter Vincent since these updates are all DX11 so even if you see them in the blog we'll never see them in game since yet again CCP is going to release new features that aren't available to their mac customers.

CCP have gone out of their way to continue support for Mac users. Your issue is with Mac computers lagging behind and it's something you need to take up with Apple, not CCP.

I think this stuff is great!

It's something I might have suggested in Player Features & Ideas. Though anyone who's posted there probably knows by now that there is a very nasty cabal of nay-sayers who seem to spend all day every day crapping on people's ideas there, especially things like this.

They (and you quickly learn who those regular are) would come together to each individually mock anyone who would dare make a suggestion like this. Unsurprisingly they seem to have a VERY soft heart for the ganking lifestyle, opposing any idea that would help curtail it and lauding ideas to make ganking easier and more lucrative.

SO glad that CCP couldn't care less what those dips think as they (CCP) continually upgrade and improve on the Eve universe.

So again... Thank You CCP for regularly improving Eve like this and increasing its immersiveness. You rock!

I'll check that Phantasm issue out. Kill marks won't copy over using copyships, as far as I know, but I'll double check.

While ship velocity vectors are definitely useful, I'm not sure they are a good idea in big fights. We probably need a separate easily accessible toggle somewhere in the hud settings for them.

Things can get rather cluttered and hard to interpret when there are multiple ships in a small volume of space, especially since each object gets multiple lines. One curved line from the object to the player's plane, one red vector in the ship plane, and one blue vector originating from the ship. Then there's the red or yellow aggression boxes, the small white selection circle, and the large white active target circle.

Not visual, but since you mention cyno gens: what happened to the sound when you cyno out? There used to be this noisy sound when you initiate the jump (that triggers the blue or red jump flash effect animation), followed by the noisy sound of the jump itself as well as the landing noise after a jump. The first part is completely gone and the blue/red jump flash effect is completely silent. Can we get that noise back?

What about giving the lights that actually fit the hangars, now they hide everything around in darkness or are too bright big spotlights.
Is this the way future must look?

Your effective personal standings need to be higher to see the player's signature.

The new tactical overlay stuff is awesome. Especially liking the circle/line that shows where I'm headed when manually piloting with double-clicks in space.

That said, the directional and transversals vector on selected ship are too small when zoomed out to normal cruiser/BS scales. If I'm zoomed out to the 50km ring or more and at typical non-prop cruiser/BS speeds, the blue arrows are completely lost in the noise of target brackets, etc.

I like how, in the "with secondary lighting" pic, there's a light shining RIGHT AT the front of the ship and it isn't lit up at all from it. That sure is some good secondary lighting right thurr. Shocked

Love the new lighting effects, especially the in station, or Citadel, under ship lighting effect. Which brings up an interesting question: Why can't I look UP? The cool video boards in the Astrahus are UP from my ship and I cannot look up at all. This means that I also cannot look under my ship to see that cool new lighting effects.

Yeah, I like the animations, but the lighting in general is weird in a Minmatar hangar Gloom is great, but try a screenshot of an Astero there and see the frankly ridiculous level of contrast on the white hull.

I wish I could get that kind of contrast out in space.
