Scrapmetal Processing skill

Is scrapmetal processing skill needed to be trained if i want to get 100% efficiency from the reprocessing act? I am going to do this in a 50% efficiency station with standings > 6.67, for huge amounts of items\equipment (not ore).

I am mainly interested to do 100% efficiency without having to train scrapmetal processing, that would save me the time to train refinery efficiency & metallurgy to level 5 as well.

You don't need Scrap Metal Processing to get 100% yield.

Refining 5 + Refinery Efficiency 5 + 2% Refining implant is all you need to refine and reprocess ANYTHING at a station with 50% facilities to get 100% yield. No additional skills are required.

Without the implant, you need the material specialization skill at level 1 to get 100% yield at 50% facilities.

I used to have the implant, but I got tired of it occupying a valuable slot, so I trained Scrap Metal Processing.

Well, I'd say once you've got both Refining and Refining Efficiency at level V there's no reason not to get that one more skill anyway. Wouldn't ever fit an implant just for some bonus I can get with a bit more skill time.

I didn't have an urgent desire to train Metallurgy 5.

As I also do BPO research, it didn't hurt though.

My initial question was generated by the desire to avoid having to train Ref.Efficiency & Metallurgy to L5 which takes time. The problem is not training Scrapm.Proces. to L1-2 , its having to train those 2 skills to L5 first to get to Scrapm.Proces.

I wasn't very informative in my initial description so,and been motivated by your helpfull responses , i did a bit more comprehensive research and found that with Refining at L5 , Ref.Efficiency at L4 , the 4% H60 Hardwiring Implant and a 50% station i can have a 99.764% efficiency in refining.

I really dont mind the minimal loss and on this particular char the 8th implant slot is free and wont be needed for any other kind of implant.

Thanks everyone for your help and thoughts.
