First of all I need to give thanks to Rita Jita and the awesome job that has been done with Haulers Channel. It really is a hub for great community and all kinds of freight that gets hauled around. I have though been running into more and more people that are not capable of funding the pretty large collateral contracts that get posted. Because of this reason I am not making a competing channel but more of channel to provide lesser Isk people with hauling opportunities.

That being said I give you BILLION FREIGHT which is the channel name and BILLION FREIGHT mailing list. This channel is for High sec only couriers and cannot no matter what have a collateral over 1 Billion Isk. For larger collateral loads we of course want you to go to the Haulers Channel and post there. Because contracts posted here are 1 Billion Isk or less there is no sorting through dozens of mailing contract links trying to find one you can afford.

Mind you lesser contract collateral are listed and I encourage anybody using the mailing list to also list the amount of the collateral in the title. Let it be known I do not make or get anything from the channel and do not expect or warrant anything special as I am working for the community not myself.

Please leave comments of your experience below and of course you can email me at any time with questions.

Clarification is needed I am NOT hauling these contracts. I am providing a channel for contracts to be posted in..
This is not a competing hauling service against other hauling services. This is a channel similar to Hauling Channel but on a more limited ISK collateral basis. Basically an entry point for new courier services and people with less ISk to spend

using a limiting factor of 1 billion collaterial means that for any person looking to move items for profit ,
have the issue of only being able to offer very low rewards to said haulers and is the main reason you see so little of them.
since low reward contracts aren't worth the time/effort for the haulers to justify risk in moving them..
at lower collaterials its more cost effective to just move something yourself.

so for example using a standard ROI for any person looking to move items for profit

1 bil at 10% ROI = 100mil profit.
10% of profits go towards couriers = 10mil

so now your left with a dilema
anything over 10 jumps is under the standard 1 mil per jump
and for 10 jumps or less you could do this yourself with little effort and make and extra 10% profit.

obviously not everyone is moving items for profit, but the problem still exsists, since you'd still have to pay at least 10% of the value of the good to be moved in the first place.

just my two cents, but i've been doing this a while : )

another thing someone else said via mail to me i think is worth quoting

"I think his channel is based on a misconception - that making a new channel will increase the amount of low collateral contracts out there. In fact the value of the haulers channel is getting as many haulers and contractors together as possible, so if he was successfull at splitting part of the channel off then it would mean there were 2 channels neither of which were as good as the complete haulers channel. "

something to consider i guess.

p.s
nice copy paste on the motd...............

Since that post the WHOLE Motd was changed by request of Rita which I did gladly. I had modified it some but not to an acceptable level and changed the rest within minutes of hearing the concern.

The whole point of the channel is for those that cannot afford or do not want to risk multiple billions of isk in collateral. In eve the mandate of (drive or invest what you can afford to lose is pretty strong). Also the channel as I am directing it is toward newer people who are fresh rookies and training up skills and want questions answered.

I am not a believer in learning things the hard way. Eve has this HTFU mentality that in my mind turns people off. Knowledge and its use as wisdom ( seeing the long term consequences) of your actions is what I am to teach. If we can provide less isk wealth people a confidence and knowledge of hauling and courier and contract services we do well by them and Eve.

Confident and informed people that work with the community build a better community. What you teach them can be taught to others and so on. Teaching people how to courier well and do risk assessments and ask questions also protects the person having things hauled. It does no good to get the collateral if the item blown up was ultra rare and can never be found again. Isk is fluid and everywhere but ITEMS of value and Interest can be lost not to be gained again.

Also just to counter an assumption. I do not nor ever have i thought more low cost contracts would be made to satisfy the channel. I do though with this channels limitations give even people that use other services perhaps another way to haul freight that does not cost as much. The other freight companies that I have tried are far more expensive then Haulers Channel. So perhaps we can get more of them into public contracts and save them some isk as well.

One other assumption to counter. I have talked to people who use the Haulers Channel after they found my forum came and talked to me. This is not going to diminish Haulers Channel it will actually make it even better. How you say? Simple by people taking a small step with lower collateral and gaining wisdom they can more confidently use the Haulers Channel to do bigger collateral hauls. Learn with Billion then go nuts in Haulers. I have limited my channel to HIGH sec to reduce the risk to new players.

One more thing to note then and that is by the rules of EVE online I did not have to notify or communicate with any person about what I was doing. I could have just copied and pasted and not communicated and told all kinds of devious lies and half truths and tried to create hard problems. I could have by EVE standards created drama and wars and all kinds of online hate.

I have done none of these things nor will I. I am far more interested in the Eve community then all that rhetoric which destroys in my mind the great mechanics of Eve. Again I am not attempting to divide merely provide another avenue for access which strengths what we are. If you have any questions please email me I am open minded and will readily admit fault and correct it as soon as I can.

Thank you for your understanding.
