Replace Jump Fatigue with jump drive spool up timer.

This was suggested some time ago - maybe as citadels are now live, this is perfect moment to introduce this mechanic.
Currently people can jump instantly when they don't have a timer - this change will require people to be in space and charging jump drives before they have ability to jump. The change will be huge and will affect whole eve.
Spool up timer will be connected to ship class and affected by modules and rigs.

No more instant "i am safe" for all things that have jump drive and cyno in range.
No more increasing fatigue.
No more moving ships 5 seconds before downtime.
No more capitals moving by gates ready to jump out when neutral show up on local.


To compare current vs new mechanic.
You jumped in your carrier to a system A and want to move it to system B.

Current mechanic :
You dock up, wait for the timer to pass, undock and click jump to system B

New mechanic :
You undock, warp to pos, warp to citadel ( charging drive while thetered will be possible ), wait in space and activate your drive, wait 10 minutes for the drive to charge.
When drive is charged you click jump to System B

pretty crappy for hunters with black ops having to wait till the jd spools up before being able to jump sorta ruins the whole ship tbh.

And you really think this will have the same affect on long range power projection that jump fatigue does?
You get a no way in hell from me on this lousy idea simply because it appears to be yet another attempt to circumvent the jump fatigue and jump range limits. But the spool up time you would respond and my answer is any one with more than a few brain cells active can and will take that time into account when planning.

To be honest this sounds more like something you found swimming around in a puddle of your own tears simply because you lost a cap ship kill to someone who out thought you.

To the OP - It's not changing. It's working. This is 'get rid of jump fatigue' idea 97.

I recommend you do a search of this forum section on jump fatigue and read it to get the flavor of how all ideas associated with altering jump fatigue have turned out. You'll have more luck cynoing across eve twice in on hour than getting this idea to go anywhere.

If you're going to have spool-up, make it optional. Time spent spooling reduces both the fatigue and activation timers that you'd otherwise get upon jumping.

Spool + New Fatigue = Old Fatigue
