Hello gents

Can someone tell me what happens when you steal can from a suspect pilot? Will you go suspect?

I've came back to game after a very long break and im still trying to figure out the changes.

Yesterday night I was stealing ice from few miners and in the process, as expected I went suspect. Since there was lot of ice to haul, I took the ice from miners and put them in my cargo cans. Few minutes later a freighter started taking stuff from my cargo container. But unfortunately he did not go suspect.

I always thought stealing others cargo will make you a suspect. But in this case the freighter did not go suspect. Is it because I was a suspect already?

Support Can flipping.

Yes.

If you are in to shenanigans I would suggest reading up on some devblogs regarding Crimewatch. Quite a bit has changed.

If you can legally shoot someone, you can legally take their loot/cargo without any extra flags being generated.

If you want to do this in the future, the easiest way I have found is to fly your alt into the belt in an orca and just drag the ice directly from their container into the orca fleet bay. Probably leave the orca alt's safety on green just to be safe.

Ultimately though it is a lot of work for not much isk.... It does beat mining the ice yourself though if you need ice for some reason.

edit: If the goal was to bait them with their own ice you could re-jetison the ice with your non-suspect orca and get the result you are looking for - but any miner with half a brain will have their safety on green and won't be able to fall for it.

The dead swans lay in the stagnant pool. They lay. They rotted. They turned Around occasionally. Bits of flesh dropped off them from Time to time. And sank into the pool's mire. They also smelt a great deal.

Solutions:

1) destroy the can and hope they get so mad they do something stupid
2) have an alt flip your own flipped can into a new one, he won't go suspect (as you learned) and the new can is now owned by someone who isn't suspect so taking from it will result in the desired effect
