Hello,

I just installed the new launcher and... There is a serious lack of CPU optimization on this thing. Whatever I interact with (mostly by mouse hovering), the CPU usage rise up to unusual values. The game itself use less than the launcher...

The video don't show it but sometimes, the CPU usage rise up for no reasons. I don't move the mouse neither the UI is refreshed by new infos, nothing but it go up to 15/20 %. Sometimes for few seconds, sometimes for more.

And even when minimized, the new launcher ask close of 1% at all time because of the QTWebEngine process, while the old one is always at 0.01%. At this level, it doesn't really matter but like above, sometimes while minimized it asks for 15/20 % CPU power for no reasons for a brief instant each 10/15 seconds. And what does it write in my SSD at the same time, do you try to kill him ? :

Of course, the old launcher don't suffer of any of this.

It wouldn't be ridiculous if my CPU wasn't an Intel Core I5-4590, so I seriously doubt that the launcher should require so much for few graphics effects or unknown jobs. I am on a Windows 7 Professional 64 bits, with a Radeon HD7870 / Crimson 16.2.

I will remain on the old launcher, more optimized.

Thanks for the fix for the non-Steam accounts not being remembered on the launcher. The only problem now is that when the launcher is updated it remembers the non-steam accounts and removes the Steam account. I have no idea on how to get it back without re-installing the game. :(

It shows the installer for the OLD client, which gives the warning that it won't be support after the end of the month.


I want the NEW client, and the download page for it shows just the game download.


CCPlease .... if you're going to put a link out there, it needs to be the correct one.

Downloaded the exe for the new launcher EveLauncher-1045952.exe
Clicked on this exe to run as administrator, clicked yes then ....... nothing.

Closed everything and rebooted. downloaded again and Clicked on the EveLauncher-1045952(1).exe to run
as administrator ...... nothing

No event in task manager in task manager, no message, nothing.

We are actively working on improving the experience for Steam users. In the meantime you can restart the launcher from Steam to log your steam account back in.

I renamed a profile.

After restarting the launcher it now shows up twice, both as old name and new.

Not sure I dare delete any of them.

After I installed the new Launcher I have the issue that no more Chatlog files are generated.
I startet the Eve Log Server and received:

I deleted the whole folder structure but it didn't help.
I also reassigned ACL rights to the documents folder.

What else can you suggest?

Not quite .... Please look at the Mac OS portion I've copied from the same link I posted:

Delete the older EVE Online-…macosx folder from your EVE install (in the second finder window)
Start your EVE client, you should have successfully updated to the newer version of the EVE Launcher



This still makes reference to the old version number and not the new one.

Sooo, I've finally swapped over & managed to get it all working. However, I can't find the option to auto-shut the launcher once you click play? Having to manually shut it is a pita. It must be there somewhere, so can someone please point me in the right direction???

So is it normal now to have a 5 second delay while alt-tab ing between characters? Or is there a better way to switch between?
Seems after using the new launcher I have a increased delay that was almost instant with the old launcher.

How is it even possible that when switching to the new launcher you can lose all your in-game settings? HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?!?!?!?!

I hate this new launcher.

Before, once logged in, the game would start (I think there was a check mark for that), now I have to click Play. OK, it is just one click, but it annoys the hell out of me.

Then there is the Ready to Play message at the bottom, but it is obvious that the launcher is downloading something. And I cannot find anywhere what is downloading. More than that, why does it say Ready to Play, when it is not. Once it finishes, then the game starts.

I want the old launcher back. At least is was simpler and did less things, and I got to the game quicker.

There is no reason to hate. Go to Settings, Launch Options and enable Auto play on login. The launcher will now start a client as soon as you are logged in. Combine this with remembering your account and there are no clicks to get into the game.

The launcher by default downloads updates for two test servers, Singularity and Duality. This allows you to play on our test servers and try out upcoming features. Another benefit is that patches to the main server are often considerably smaller on patch days as the content has been released on the test servers beforehand. If you don't want this, go to Settings, Test Servers and disable both of them.

Starting this morning, I'm having a problem where the launcher takes a significnatly longer amount of time to load. When it does and I try to launch two accounts at once, the top account loads, but the second is consistently getting a fatal error (it doesn't lot at all, though the launcher claims it's running; when I hit "stop" in the launcher, it brings up the error box). When I do finally get it to load (usually the 3rd try), it has to load for several minutes before it comes to the character screen, then several more minutes when I select a character.

Are you playing in fullscreen mode? I have that problem when I play "fullscreen". Instead, I got to windowed mode and the alt+tab is instantaneous.

I notice the same problem regardless of whether I have both clients fullscreen, or one full and one windowed.
