Do I have to unistall stuff first before I install the new launcher?

I'm sure this question has been answered plenty of times but I couldn't find it....

You don't _need_ to, no.

you may wish to, if disk space is a concern. Just leave the shared cache where it is, as the new launcher will quite happily use it (and avoid downloading it all again)

Well I was of course hoping the cache would stay where it is but I was more wondering about the launcher install folder. Right now obviously the old launcher/client/whatever it all is, is in my EVE folder, do I need to clear that before installing the new launcher?

No, the new launcher has a different name to the old one, so both are present when you install the new one. The installation text is confusing, as it talks about deleting files, whereas it doesn't do this at all. It also asks if you want to move or keep your cache.

I have heard from several players that clicking the download for the new launcher messes up your overview settings and deletes your chat channels.

Is this common or is there a way to avoid it happening??

At this day and age, if disk space is a concern, you're not really in the game.
Find some munny. Spend some munny. Get a real computer.
If you're fudging EVE, your machine sucks.

If we get chased by zombies, I'm tripping you.

If you just migrate your settings, it should pull everything through. If it doesn't, go into the manage settings option and try again.

^ What I was wondering myself. Cool beans, and thanks for the tip, mate.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."
