and all i can think of is why? why change the nag? what's wrong with having only 2 turrets, why does it need 3 guns? is it that jealous of the other gun dreads that it needs to give up it's uniqueness and ammo efficiency? if so, then why must it be through one of the most half assed looking means? i mean come on, i know she's matari, but they aren't scraping together junk while fighting for their freedom anymore. that time is done and gone, and they have since gone back and properly designed most all of their fleet lineup, so why the **** job here?

i said this in the reddit thread and i'll say it here again. i love you guys at ccp, you have been doing some AMAZING work the last few years. there is no one that i more happily fork over my rl money to then you bunch of icelandic hooligans, but this just feels wrong. what reason is there to do this to one of the most glorious ships in this insane gae that we call eve?

So here's a story about everyone favorite vertical supremacy dreadnought.

Once upon a time, the Naglfar had both missiles and guns, and pilots thereof had to train upon both weapon systems.

And so it came to pass that the people looked upon the Naglfar split weapon layout and said "Yo, this is ****** up"

And so CCP removed the third hardpoint upon which was a missile launcher, and added a 50% bonus to the guns, so that it was the equal of other dreadnoughts.

Lo, the people did rejoice, except the fuckwits who then whined about wanting missile SP reimbursed.

And CCP did say unto the people "I know it's a hack job, we will get around to reworking the model to add a third gun hardpoint at some point, till then chill." "Soon*"

Which gets us to now. A third hardpoint, and three weapons, like it was designed and intended all along.

That's the reason. Although I highly suspect you just want to whine and have no actual interest in the facts of the matter.

it was 2 missile hardpoints, my nag used to have that split wep setup so i remember well what i could do with her (yes my nag is 5 years old). was it annoying to train? yes, but your dps was higher than every other dread; it was glorious and annoying and totally worth it imo.

i dont remember people crying about the lack of a 3rd gun, and i dont remember ccp saying they would add one, but that's probably just my broken ass memory. still though, what real reason is there to do it? there's nothing wrong with having 2 guns on the nag, it does the same levels of dmg as the 3 gun dreads, so why are they bothering to spend time and resources to fix something that isn't broken and no one asked for?

You need the third in case one of the other's breaks down. Apparently there were reports from the battlefield that one or two of the guns would get stuck while firing requiring ramming the opposing ship to get the turret unstuck. The additional third gun allows for better balance of the turret and apparently testing has revealed the incidents of stuck turrets were dramatically reduced.
