I'm currently completing level 4 missions in my Dominix. Would it be worth upgrading to a Navy Issue? What would the benefits be with it rather than my current Dominix. I'm mostly DPS'ing with my drones... If I switch to a Navy Issue.. I could more easily use Hybrid Turrets from what I understand. But I could use some input... thanks

My current fit is:

With navy you can fit bigger guns and a beefier (shield) tank since it has an extra mid slot.
For armour navy version doesn't give that much except easier fitting options or propulsion mod you couldn't fit in otherwise.

Solution: Don't fit a Dual LAR Domi.

1x LAR II + 4x Active Hardeners is more than enough for lvl 4 missions.
Use the PG to up your guns, you should be able to fit at least 6x 350mm II's on there, if not 425mm's.

And fwiw, the regular Domi when fit in a speciifc sentry fit (2x Sentry Rigs + Omni's) will out damage a Navy Domi, bear that in mind if you want to really focus on drones.

there isnt much difference, your right.

But I do like to fit an AB in the extra mid just for approaching gates faster.

also the extra HP provides a bit more of a comfort zone... and well, they look cooler!

This. This is the only reason I would get one. The comfort zone in the armor and the xtra med slot for an AB.

Furthermore, the Navy Dominix doesn't have as much rig calibration to work with (50 points less, I think) and therefore loses sentry drone DPS in comparison to the vanilla Dominix.

First come smiles, then lies. Last is gunfire.

The Navy Domi is better in every way compared to the normal Domi with the exception of the rig situation. So, unless you use sentries, there is no reason to not upgrade!

My personal take is that the navy domi really shines if you have great drone AND gunnery skills. If you just have great drone skills (especially sentries) you will do better with a standard domi and 2 sentry rigs.

I run a standard domi with 2 sentry rigs and a single LAR and don't have any issues.
