I take everyone seriously, including me.

Miners? I mined for weeks in low sec and we missioned in low sec (near Taff and then 1 jump in 0.0) with marauders. Those were the "corp ops" to farm money to buy carriers etc. for the (lost) ships replacement program.

We still had 4-5 buddies watching the gate during the "op", never been at risk. Same when we went deeper in 0.0, a bubble and few corpies acting as early warning system were plenty enough.

I find it unlikely neuts would cyno in mega-expensive ninja ships to kill 4-5 Hulks.

Then you sir havent seen 2 Black ops Cyoning to kill a frigate...Welcome to 0.0

No, because they'd quickly become 2 Black Ops kill mails so they did not even try that.

Ahhh really? So you are such a big alliance to have countermeasures againts 2 ships that can briing whatvere on the fight?

so you're saying when you jump into a system you suddenly know who in local is AFK or not?
if theres 10 guys in local would you care?
nope, you'd scuttle off like the little roach you are, and find a nice empty system where you can be 100% SAFE, the same thing you say is unfair about cloaking.

that makes you a hypocrite too

Also this argument and example has no point.Completely different cases. and you sir seems to be out of argument for a while now.

I think it's right on point
you lot always want afk clokies gone so you can feel safe and you use the argument that nobody should be safe to try and push it through

its either remove afk people or let me hunt down afk people, its old, stale and ends up cluttering up the boards to no effect

The tears! OP is doing one thing right. Getting people's heckles up.

EVE is Unique in that it *DOESN'T* disconnect you for inactivity.

Surely if *somethings* going to change here, make it something other than that.

Talking about cloaking, why does the same device that cloaks my Buzzard also cloak that titan?

Produce Small / Medium / Large and Capital sized cloaks :-)

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

Really??

If you don't have pilots active in your space from all TZs, how do you expect to defend your space in a persistent, single-shard PvP MMO?

Even if you don't have pilots active in all TZs, you only need the combat and scanning pilots around when you have non-combat vessels engaged in non-combat activities.

Your complaint is invalid.

If your corp did their homeworks the cloaky would not even be there to begin with.
If your corp cannot afford whole day coverage of its main income producing system(s) then they either HTFU or organize appropriate suppression of the attacking corp.

Having an AFK cloaker in local is not the cause, but the result of having done stuff wrong.

And that's been dealt with and essentially agreed on (I think).

You can change the effects of AFK cloaking by forcing cloakies to use probes to hunt. Just change anoms and belts to sigs for the ratters/miners.

Thus NO change is needed at all to cloakies - what changes is their effectivess if they are AFK. And the "AFK cloakies" advocates can gather all the intel they like if they should so choose.

Unless ofc they are ONLY doing it for system denial while they go to bed and sleep. A point in contention.

Because you knew they were harmless. When they tried that crap on ops of ours, they'd often get dropped a dozen of carriers in their face. Back at the time I was one of the lowest SP and most pacific guys in there (first time I got titan jumped I was in a T1 fit Rupture) but I had many corpies who could not wait to get an opportunity to pew pew like that.

Question 1: When was the last time you stopped a recon getting in?

Betcha can't.

Question 2: Would you volunteer to sit in a combat ship, for hours and hours, possibly days, on EVERY likely target to catch the blops drop?

Anyone who has done ratting/mining or even escort in 0.0 knows damn well that everyone is scattered and any one of them can be a target.

Question 3: How fast can you react?

Most bomber blops are over and done, with attackers scattered before you even get out of warp. It's easy to pull the Rapier and Manticores out after that - either charge the gatecamp before it gets organised or log/wait it out.

Besides, the argument is about the fact that this can be setup - completely uncountered. The threat - even when the recon pilot is in bed - is the issue.

ITT: one man and his alts take on most of the GD regulars and makes terrible cringe worthy posts.

If this is a thread supporting the removal of afk cloaking... then:

if you go afk for ten minutes you're disconnected from local channel. as soon as you move, you return to local channel... I'd support this, the carebears know if a toon is afk, and the cloakers can camp anomalies. while "afk" everyone's a winner!

I'm not sure what universe you live in where a single stealth bomber or recon poses any kind of threat to anything other than solo ratting idiots.

That much is known Morgs - IF you are there and in range when he lights up. Jump on light, do the kill, cover the recon (if possible) and scatter. It's way too easy some days. Watching for baits is soooo obvious it's not even funny - which is the only way your "methods" would work.

The reality is that 90% of alliance ratters can't organise a revenge BBQ when confronted with said tactic let alone mount a fast enough response to stop the kill in the first place.

But this is NOT the issue. It's the threat of it when he's in bed. No counter UNTIL he pops up and WHEN that happens is unknown - possibly for days.

so go where he isn't?
if he's in bed he won't see you leave will he?
if he follows you you'll know hes not AFK
win win

perhaps hes not clokey at all, what if its a bot sitting at a safe waiting for you to leave?

Most bombers are NOT solo and most "idiot ratters" ARE solo unless sharing anoms with corpies.
