Miners? I mined for weeks in low sec and we missioned in low sec (near Taff and then 1 jump in 0.0) with marauders. Those were the "corp ops" to farm money to buy carriers etc. for the (lost) ships replacement program.

We still had 4-5 buddies watching the gate during the "op", never been at risk. Same when we went deeper in 0.0, a bubble and few corpies acting as early warning system were plenty enough.

I find it unlikely neuts would cyno in mega-expensive ninja ships to kill 4-5 Hulks.

if theres 10 guys in local would you care?

No, because they'd quickly become 2 Black Ops kill mails so they did not even try that.

Edit: it's back to the "don't be an unprepared weakling" concept. If they attack, it's because they are sure (we don't want to have "fair" fights in EvE, right?) they will have no tangible opposition.

There were some who loved to p!ss off, they got served some emasculation directly at their home, their POSes destroyed and similar.
In EvE (and not), you don't deserve to keep what you don't fight for.
