Wouldn't it be cool if either you could cloak a Citadel, turn off all the lights then go AFK until your next session, or just shut the thing down, turn off all the lights and set a cloaky sort of timer? That way those of us with an embedded anti-social chip could get to play with Citadels, too. Build it way off on the edge somewhere, never mind what to do with the thing, it's just another really cool toy in the toy box.
I'm an idea guy, 99.9% should never see the light of day, but every once in a while, hey, you never know.

Forum Rep for a bunch of characters, couple corps and one seriously Lost In Space multiboxer.

Yeah, this one is one of those 99,9%

Basically you are giving citadels the ability for 100% security. That is bad.

As someone who tends to be anti-social sometimes also, I understand where you are coming from.

However, the concept of "if you put it in space, I can shoot it" is exactly what makes Eve special. Like player owned stations started out to be, citadels are corporation assests, made for group play.

It's hard at first, but make some friends. Even for an anti-social like me, it's the most fun you'll have in game.

Some players just wanted their single player space hut. Somewhere where they could only dock up and keep their stuff, like in NPC stations, but their own. NPC stations have 100% security and most people are ok with it.

But such invulnerability would be bad because of the clutter this could cause in space. So, this small "citadel" could be vulnerable, but it would be just an expanded depot, could only allow docking few ships and hangar space would not be great. So people could evacuate fast.

CCP should have had some idea about structure that would appeal even to single player. Just by making space feel like his own for a moment.

For your purpose you can bring a cloaky cruiser with mobile depot(s). Should probably do the trick pretty well.

Not if you need more than 1 ship to use.

That´s true. Well, i guess you can´t have everything. Focus or team up (while a stratios can handle quite a lot).

You could put a cloak on a ship with a ship maintenance bay.

Cloak on orca.

But there is a huge gap between the mobile depot and the smallest citadel.
Too bad there are no other habitational structures in plan.

Why are you in an MMO asking for design changes to make it more like a single player game?

While we definitely shouldn't be able to cloak a citadel, what's unreasonable about playing solo in an MMO, and especially a sandbox? More often than not I love the idea of playing solo in an environment where I could be hunted by gangs of real people instead of ******, predictable AI. That's part of the fun of a sandbox MMO. Don't tell me how to play EVE and I'll show you the same courtesy.

Something akin to a small/medium pos today would be great with citadels, even if it's significantly easier to take out than any current structure (as it should be).

Were it up to me™ I would add in smaller sized "pirate" citadels that form their own deadspace pocket around them meaning everybody in it can be shot as well as the citadel (and at any time) but the entire thing does not appear on D-scan nor is it probe-able. You would need "connections" (spy, or some serious level of triangulation with probes and searching) to find it.

THAT would be cool.

Inject Reading Comprehension and train to at least level 1. I said nothing about operating solo within the MMO, where you still can be touched by others.

space engineers. No seriously.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

Do the same bud. You took the term 'anti-social' and jumped to single player game. Not wanting to fleet/be on comms with people is anti-social. No one (other than yourself) said anything about a single player game.

as you so eloquently put it, GTFO!

No, your reading or understanding of the OP simply isn't there. He clearly is asking for a way to minimize, and a way that could be used to practically eliminate, the ability of players other than himself to interact with his Citadel. Practical elimination of players other than yourself from any part of an MMO game world makes that part of the game world practically single-player. As minimization of players other than yourself in part of an MMO game world approaches 0% of the population of other players, that part of the game world's resemblance to a single-player game (for you) converges to 100%.

And, again I say to the OP and his horrid idea, GTFO!
