That camera!

Me no like.

How do I watch a ship and then when it initiates warp the camera resets to my ship. I want to keep watching to see where it is going! Driving me mad.

It also gets stuck sometimes so I cannot spin around the ship to get a perspective to others or the gate.

Bumping seems to have got harder.

Please someone or Ccp help!

Just relax, it will hurt initially, but you will get used to it. Maybe even you will feel like there is no way back to what you had earlier. Pirate

Others, myself included, and in the F&I forum, have repeatedly asked for the "pan around" feature from holding down the right mouse button to come back. Lots of players missing it.

I think in forward looking HUD mode it would be even better.

Maybe we'll have to shoot a monument..

I love it when you undock and warp, and realize that your ship is nowhere to be seen, and the camera is locked in a weird down-ward angle with no way to change it. Only a session change (dockup or gate jump) fixes the magical-missing-ship moment.

You can pan as long as you don't have your ship or other object selected. You have to click out in open space if you are selected on something that you can't pan around. At least that's what I recall I have to do every time it messes me up.

Even if you disable all settings to make the orbit camera "basically the same as the old camera";

- There is input lag on all camera commands.

- Panning up and down takes twice the input as Panning left and right.

- Zoom has 1/3 to 1/4th the number of increments, making it far too fast when zooming in and out as a result of the far few options for the degree of zoom. Also, the increments of zoom are so far apart so its hard to find a desirable level of zoom for kiting.

Sounds like you're 'looking at' the ship you want to track.
You know when a ship goes into warp the camera reverts to you, so don't use it. You can 'look at' a ship to get some idea of where it's aligning, but to track it as it warps out you have to get the camera off it.
Then, as long as tracking camera is on (Shift+c) the camera will be dragged away to wherever target has warped.

Adding my voice and hope someone bloody listens and acts on it.

I don't post often. Maybe once or twice in my entire time here, associated with Eve.

The new camera sucks. Absolutely. It's not intuitive. It doesn't centre on the ship. It looks like a feature that was changed fully for the sake of change, maybe to justify someone's job, when no change was needed.

It was standard practice to turn the "new" camera off. Right down to teaching the noobs to turn it off, too. Why?
Because it sucks.

If it isn't broke why break it? Why replace something that WORKS for CRAP?

Same goes for the map.

Please stop changing things because "shiny". Because "justify my job". Because change for the sake of change.

I'm all for keeping the game "competitive" vs other titles. But this change doesn't help achieve this outcome, in fact,
it impedes it.

It kills the immersion factor. Seriously. I'm already juggling window space with a multitude of boxes on screen. We can't all afford multiple big screen monitors. the centre of my screen is PRIME real estate to see WTF is ACTUALLY HAPPENING around me.

How about getting rid of the first-person mode (which is supercilious and no-one in their right mind seriously uses it anyways) and giving us back our working panning centered camera?

I just want to click something on the overview, and have my ships view centered, as the camera swivels to look at at. That, and drag with my mouse for a quick look at other stuff. The tried and true WORKING camera, not this crap you've replaced it with.

I do not want to have 3 useless modes (crap camera, orbit crap camera, and fps crap camera) - that just frustrate the hell out of me. Before it was fine to ignore these buttons as long as I had my choice. But that choice has been stripped from me.

To those that tell me with a smiling face "Oh you'll get used to it :) . It's great. You'll see :) " - Don't tell me I have to get used to it. I don't like it. I hate it. It detracts from my in-game experience. Go get used to cancer.

CCP I forgive you for deleting my Windows boot.ini in your update many years ago. But this I can't.
Please fix it. Or just give me the option of having my working camera back.

Over it.

I really don't like the camera either. Everything I have to say about it has already been said. I would like the old camera to come back. Or at least an option for it.

Ive had nothing but issues with the new camera since a few patches ago. At first it was giving me a gray screen sometimes on undock. Then when i tried to dock to fix it, it would crash the client. i had to repair the client to fix that. Then i get this problem as a replacement.

This camera is way to buggy to be on TQ. It should of went through more testing before it was put on TQ.

Personally I'm hoping it will get patched but it's been in a while. We found the best way to watch someone who initiated warp was to use the tactical camera and track. That forces you to use that state.

Look at the big yellow circle at the bottom of your screen
Click the middle of the 3 buttons immediately to the left of it.
Job done.

If you select the top or bottom buttons you will get all the issues you are complaining about.

This new camera SUCKS.... what the hell...

The old camera was so much better what was wrong with it...

I thought when you re-do something it is meant to be better but this is WORSE...

You guys realize you can disable almost all of the added "effects" in the options right? I don't remember if it was Video or Game options but it's there. Dynamic Camera, Camera Shake, FoV etc...

I mean, instead of taking like 5 minutes to configure the new camera you decide it's a better idea to take 15 minutes to write a complaint on the forums instead. Mind boggling, honestly.

If you don't at all like the new camera though, you will get used to it in a day if you play with it.

This isnt about getting used to a new tool, its about missing features and ccp's stubbornness.

The new camera has some nice features but we are forced to trade features and thats a bad trade for me.

Re enable the old camera so that we can have a stable tool while you work on integrating ALL the features of the old camera in to the new one.

You have all the feedback you need in the feedback threads, some of them look like they are coming from professional programmers and UI designers.
