Temporal process managment and hull rep example

temporal effects.
hull repair modules work at proper speed should ship not have seen any battle for last minute ; otherwise , apply a penalty multiplier with respect to severity : shields , armor , and/or hull had any activity at all.

the temporal part is to simplify math .
instead of taking an account of action as it immediatly occurs , then rather , note what was active in last minute resulting in a trivial reset timer to 1 min.

Here i am saying the count down timer is one minute; at the end of which, the negative multipliers dissapear.
the more things active the more the negative penalty multiplier.

This is like a metaphor : you don't toast with a toaster you are repairing as is.

flow logic

shield armor hull
0 0 0
1 0 0
0 1 0
0 0 1

line 1 : 0 0 0.
no penalty.
line 2 : 1 0 0 .
only shields affected : first and lightest penalty.
line 3 : 0 1 0.
Armor affected infeers shield gone too (exception shieldless ships).
Double penalty and only one timer is needed after logical simplification.

line 4 : 0 0 1.
... triple penalty for armor is breeched which infeers shields gone too ... hull hit.
thus a full minute has to pass before tripple penalty disappears or lessens ... which is a field of its own so pick simple.

layered breech sensor in conjunction with wepon timer .. is what I can simplify it down to.

I'll have to get back to you on translation ... middle of no where .

He want's local reps to be penalized if there is incoming fire..... It's a temporal thing, not everyone gets it on the 4th try.

(I think.... maybe???)

wait so he wants reps to be worse when you need to use them??

so we hit our heads to get our reps to work...?

i mean right from the get go i'm lost

The Temporal process and temporal effects are two very different things

I've worked through the math several times and it makes sense. If you take no damage - your reppers are 100% efficient repairing it.

wouldn't they be infinitely inefficient i mean they would be repping 0 of what ever the total they could rep for is.

damn it Serendipity you are getting me even more lost

Between this and the insurance thread I thought I was just having a seizure. Nice to see I'm not the only one.

Well (full disclosure here) there was a point while running the numbers where divide by zero came up. I sort of erased the zero and put in a 6 (because that's my favorite number) and it just worked. I've found it's sometimes easier to get a good answer if you edit the math at key points in the middle of the equation. I'm pretty sure everyone does it.

You're only supposed to do that with statistics 95% of people know that. but i suppose if you used it to get a % the math should still check out.
