Aye...we discussed this but we had planned to pop him regardless if he went suspect or not....He has a few spankings in queue and since I built the ships we used with reprocessed mission loot we would rather lose those than cepts'. Although, interceptors are a blast to play.....ahh..making me miss the "not-hi-sec" life again. SCHTAPPP!!

I wonder what his reaction would have been if you had 2 !!! MTU's deployed, far apart from each other.

I've seen some pets get really excited and then confused when there's more than one tennis ball. It's hilarious.

In any case, faster tackle.

Also, maybe he found out from this forum here or from your behavior (as mentioned above), or maybe he saw your friends coming from a million miles away on d-scan. Keep in mind that d-scan exists.

Haha!!! I might just leave one wreck out and drop one on each side and see if he gets hypnotized by the tractors fighting over the wreck.... They don't drug test EVE players so there is a chance it might work....

This is where we get to the truth of the matter..
The mobile tractor unit is NOT a deployable designed to enhance pve gameplay.
It's a tricksy little harlot who's out to create fun for unsuspecting folks who think that their gameplay is pve only.
OP, because of this you appear to be having some fun... and are starting to get creative with it.
This is good.
This is content creation.
This is Spart... ignore that bit.

Normally I'm the guy who's doing that thing to your MTU, you see... well, not specifically, but there are myriads out there who if they bothered to read the forum would testify to my amorous intentions when it comes to deployables. I'm not alone here, a few others who've dropped advices on you are in the same boat.

These things are awesome as endangering them forces decisions on their owners as to how they should deal with the pesky player who's messing with them. Depending on outlook, preparation and bloodlust they can be either a headache or a fun generator. It really depends on how you want to look at it.

From what I can tell, by trying to resolve your issue you've managed to find some entertainment out of it, so I say good for you.
Examine your plans to this point, discover your fail points, refine and replay.

Good luck and enjoy.

Come hell or high water, this sick world will know I was here.

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

Good to see you ignored the anti-content carebears :-)

This is a sandbox, one can play it how you feel. That which you and others put forward as the right way is only your opinion.

I never said it was the "right way", I just told the OP that if he likes to do certain things it would be fun to play with the other guy. You on the other hand basically told him to "bore him out", which just makes everything boring for everyone, which is basically the goal of you anti-content people. To make EVE as boring as possible to everyone, so you can make a solo mining and mission simulator out of it or something.

Since OP is a clever guy he obviously opted to have fun in his free time and engaged the other player in space combat. I am just glad he did not fall for the trap of you toxic anti-content people. People like you are the reason so many newbros quit, since they encounter a game which is just boring and is already void of risk and therefor meaning.

With him seeing your backup on D-scan. There is a solution for that. If you really want to get someone, and don't care what you put at risk you can always have some friends in T2 cruiser recon ships.

There are two types of recons. One type of reckons are D-scan immune, the other can use covops cloak. Both are perfect for a trap. I would kill the bait, and wait for his backup (make sure by looking at what they bring on D-scan that you can handle them with the recons, if not be prealigned in your golem to an instadock bookmark (don't want to be bumped away from station) and be ready to jump out before they land). When you see them on short D-scan start decloaking (Pilgrim, falcon, arazu and rapier) or jump in after they landed (Curse, Rook, Lachesis and Huginn) depending on which type of recon you use. Then welp them, and enjoy their tears.

The recons are relative expensive ships though, with relative low HPs (But I assume you don't care about ISK as you are in a golem), so be carefull you don't bite over more than you can chew or shot someone without a timer (you don't want to loose a recon to conchord). I can recommend neut curses (D-scan immune) as they are super nasty IWIN ships, but probably any of the recons would do.

Ah...but D-Scan would not help him. We gambled on the 100km warp from station to the only combat site in system. The other 2 stayed inside until I called him out when he warped in. I was the fastest way we could think to do it. He played it smart which is totally fine... This means if he wants to keep going he will have to come up with a better way.....which means we will have to come up with a better better way....and on and on. Tactics are fun....they may not always pay off... but still worth it on the scale of fun.

EVE is like going to the casino..... the right way or the wrong way..
I know many people who go to the casino with plans to win that extra beer money.....they are usually upset because they lose.
Then there is me.... I go with plans to lose....and I take with me what I can afford to lose.... no harm no foul.

As for the ships... Those changed from that post. We decided on fast locking, medium DPS (since there were 2 jumpers) that could move in quick and be cheap to replace. They only went with some t2 guns and ammo... the rest was mission loot fit which is perfectly fine on a 2 vs. 1 against a manti with torps.

He got away.... whether he read this post or was alerted somehow doesn't matter.. the thrill from both ends of the deal stays the same. I was getting bored in hi-sec anyways...

Dont tell the mercs i told you this but , logoff trap.

You have to be on the warpin becon (realy important) and have yer mates warp to you then logoff.
They then have to get back to the charachter selection screen ready to log back in as soon as you give the word.
If hes already suspect, As soon as you see him on short scan tell her mates to login.
If he isnt then wait till he is and in tackl range, grab him and then give the signal.
