I am new to the game currently reading and watching every video about eve online, i am Caldari pilot with the end goal of exploration and some electronic warfare and some drones, but i see ships prioritize hybrid turrets for caldari faction so my question is i have my ship using those turrets but i need to get real close to the enemy, so yeah i see that the higher the angular velocity of my ship the harder it is to get hit, should i train hybrid turrets or focused in something with more range, for exploration and some pvp here and there or just be able to defend.

should i go for missiles as well, i am trying to learn as much as i can so feel free give information. long goal is to get sisters of eve ships. reason i am training drones though.

Does my angular velocity affects my aim? i mean high angular velocity of my ship and slow weapon tracking speed bad aim?

caldari have ships which can run missiles and hybrid weapons. Drones are secondary on caldari hulls.

all weapon systems have their purpose, nobody can tell you what to train. Try them and pick what you like best.

and yes angular velocity combined with the signature size of the target determines if you can hit with your turrets or not. The smaller the angular velocity the better for you. It should be lower than your turret tracking if you fight a ship of the same size and you are fine. DPS is also influenced by range, everything below your optimal can result in max DPS, everything above that has a dps falloff until 0.

Missiles are influenced by ship signature and its velocity. The smaller the sig and the faster its speed the worse your applied damage.

good luck

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

If you're going for drones just start training Gallente ships right away, because you're going to need the Gallente skills to fly Sisters of Eve ships, and because Gallente have the best drone boats that you can use right away - the tristan, algos, vexor, etc.

Because you want to focus on exploration, the sisters of Eve ships really are your best bet. This combined with your other thread, would indicate you the direction you should aim is a stratios with neuts in the highs. With that goal in mind, you can leave your laser training till a little later, focus on your drones and your support skills. (cap skills, navigation skills, ewar skills etc.)

In the meantime, if you're doing exploration in a caldari ship, you won't really be able to pvp well at the same time regardless of what you train, so don't worry about it too much. If you really need to though, go for either missiles or railguns, seeing as your ships is going to be pretty brittle with all the exploration mods you need, you won't be able to survive up close to use blasters, so you'd want to fight from a distance.
