[GalFed][JinMei] Cease Fire Announced on Chandeille

As some of you may have seen in today's news a Cease Fire has been announced today on Chandeille. I find myself struggling to express my emotions since learning that this long and brutal conflict may now finally be coming to an end. Suffice to say, all of us who were involved in organizing the relief effort are very grateful to everyone who contributed their time and resources.

This is certainly a good day, but we must not rest on our laurels. A final and lasting peace has yet to take hold, and we must continue to be steadfast in working towards that goal.

For now, our work has been fruitful. I hope that we can build on this example of the positive impact our actions as Capsuleers can bring about.

Maybe you need to read the story again. It clearly states in the headline "Mercenaries Withdraw."

As for your wildly out of line threats, Moira's "official position" on those has always been: "Do your worst." If the tracking on your guns is as bad as your reading comprehension, I'm sure we'll be fine.

I thought this was obvious.

You're saying this is a good day after doing absolutely nothing of worth to prevent Caldari mercenaries operating on a Federation planet, then using the ceasefire as an opportunity to tell us all what good work you've been doing.

We'll find out if complacent well-wishing will protect you from those guns.

Wait, you're serious? I might ask where the hell your outrage has been for the last ten years. If you cared so much, why didn't we hear about the presence of these Caldari mercs ages ago as part of your comprehensive and thorough investigation? Why didn't you mention it at any time over the last few months as we discussed the conflict here at this very Summit?

The fact is that until a few of us started our modest publicity campaign nobody from your organization, least of all you, had made any effort to pay any attention to this war. As far as I know, this is your first and only contribution. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Great news indeed. It's nice to see a change in such a short time period.

In times like these it's sad to see that some people still fight for power and money and put innocent lives at risk on what is supposed to be a nation's homeworld. I do look forward to take part in future initiatives like this one.

When life gives you melons, make melonade !

What has been the reaction in the fruit futures market, to this news ? I would expect that with the cessation of active operations, that the wholesale price of melons would drop, as future supplies should be more plentiful.

This would of course, mean a reduction in the profitability of melon smuggling, and consequential reduction in smuggling volume, which in turn should mean a reduction in the oppressive presence of Federal Customs in the Lirsautton system.

Has there ever been a proven case of melon smuggling, or is it an excuse for Federal Customs to exercise humiliating searches of Federation citizens?

Without proof, I suspect the latter.

Its good to see this outcome rather than the civil war spiraling more out of control. The Yaken clan is happy to have assisted with this cause and if it ever does become worse and mercenaries are needed again. Then don't be afraid to call us..We might even do ti for free....Might



Then again it does not really seem like Caldari mercenaries are not welcomed that much in this thread...But hey, the Elders wanted me to put the offer out there
