Demoted in FW for plexing?

I recently returned to FW so things may have changed and I just don't know. I aksed in Militia chat and no one knew why this happened. I couldn't find much via google either

I completed a defensive plex. Did not engage anyone or any npc's. just warped in, chilled and watched d-scan while the timer ran down. The timer had not been touched previously, I did the whole timer myself and I did it all at once without leaving and coming back.

I got 2 notifications at the end. 1 notification telling me I had been awarded my LP and another telling me I had been demoted for actions against the federation.

Why did I get demoted?

FC, what do?

That is the reason - your actions during the time out of militia got you demoted. Happened to me as well. It is confusing as you do not get demoted immediately after you rejoin. I do not recall the trigger but it might be you first standings transaction with your militia npc corp.

Your rank is boundto your standings with that corp - my FDU standing was -7.4 when I rejoined a GalMil corp and I was demoted from Luminaire General to Minuteman :)

Your rank is based on your standing with the NPC associated corporation. 24th Imperial, State Protectorate - Etc.

When you left faction warfare you had a standing of say 6.0. You most likely PvP'd and killed some faction warfare guy. When you kill a guy in the NPC corporation (not a player corp) - Your standing with that NPC corporation is reduced. However, the rank is not calculated until you are in FW and have something "tick" it.

So you most likely killed a bunch of players in state pro - then you joined and ran a plex or mission which activated the tick. Which brought you standing down to its real value, thus demoting you.

Its stupid.
