1st can = 30mil in loot after easy hack

The problem is, spawns some hellish cruisers that insta pop my Buzz within 3-4 seconds.

Decided on the next find to have my buddy in his Domi stay with me while I hack and keep 3 large shield reps and 1 larger armor rep on me while having is lights play guard.... result? Buzz still nearly insta popped and the cruisers wiped the shields off the Domi in about 5 seconds and then the site vanished.

Tried looking this up to see what the strategy is since the bunker can't be killed (thought maybe to drop the bunker near the cans first). The spawns do immense damage and are cruisers by the avatar but the sig is shown as drones in overview.

Got lucky with the Buzz pop and retained nearly all my fittings and some of the good loot but I have yet to survive the spawns no matter if I try to burn away at 2600 m/s or if I have some rep-backup.

Its a ghost site. They have good loot but are rather difficult. Ive never messed with them once i figured out that the guards will easily own you. Others have found methods to do them though. Just research it as a ghost site.

Thanks, yea I found a couple of vids on ghost sites but most were in null etc with a mission behind it...and no rats.

I decided that when I scan these down I will just roll out in the Drake with the hack gear and some backup. The rats take forever to target and didn't seem to take hardly any damage from the hornet2 max skills. A covert Ops etc. def hasn't been a good choice so far unless you hack one can and bail. It seems random when they spawn... sometimes after 2 cans..sometimes after 1...

Def won't be taking the T2 buzz to these anymore.

Iirc they spawn after a countdown timer. They're designed to be run by experienced and skilled explorers.

Whether that means they're actually worth running is a different question entirely

Stratios and exploration-fit T3s do these just fine. And they can be profitable.

Stratios with big plate and MWD. Never in a frigate. This sites are unpredictable. Someone could have already left it when you warp in, and you will warp into the cruisers. Or someone could have just done it and you warp into an explosion.

It's a ghost site, a timer starts when you warp in. When the timer ends, some cruisers warp shoot you for a bit, explode the cans, continue shooting you for a bit (including point and web) and warp away.

You either hack the most valuable can as quickly as possible and GTFO, or tank the rats.

It's explosive damage, it's quite easy to tank a frigate well enough to take the damage if you use explosive hardeners. I use a heron, with AB I speed tank (orbit can at 1000m) the rats and a medium shield extender absorbs the explosion. At the end of the site I'm at about half shields (for the standard covert sites in low sec, the high sec sites do less damage).

I got all 4 cans with a frigate. Once. Normally the rats show up first.
I tried to gank one of the rats once. They ignore scrams.

Sometimes the rats are instalock, sometimes not.

A frigate can almost always get one can. Standard strategy is to get the unique can and leave.
If you have 4 friends, you can all grab a can and get something out of the site as long as nobody explodes it.

I can get 3-4 cans consistently with an astero.

I warp in cloaked to not start the timer, burn fairly close to one can and then start hacking, burn to next and then hack etc

As soon as you see rats, attempt to warp out. If you are pointed, do not panic, they do very little damage and do not scram so just mwd AWAY from the cans and just warp when out of range of the points

i always do them but i will first scan all 4 cans with a cargo scanner and then only hack the one which is worth the most. i am pretty fast at hacking and i had no trouble until last time.

I warped in as usual. scanned all 4 cans. hacked the 1 can pretty fast, looted and then warped, the npc did appear right as i warped off so i escaped pretty close... it's a gamble realy. if you have bad luck with the timer and you can't hack the can fast you can get popped while still hacking the first can...

Just few days ago in high sec I have seen on my own eyes after warping to one of those sites a frigate exploding, dropped faction medium shield extender. Yeah, probvably some fool that did not know nothing about those sites. Turns out you better dont start doing those in frigate with medium shield extenders when you are new to those. I dont remember actually if there was an explosive hardener, even when shields have explosive resistansce fairly big already.
