When I started playing a few days ago, I had a bracket that would appear over an object, as I moused around the screen, that was similar to this: [ ] I don't know, if I turned it off accidentally, or if there is a key to turn it of and on. I'm not sure where to even look for it, because I don't know what it's for. I'm sure it's something simple, that this simple mind can't figure out.

I believe the Alt key toggles "show all brackets", so press that.

Otherwise, the Overview settings also control what brackets you see in space. I know there's a tab in the overview settings that deals with brackets in space; either play around with it or read this guide.
