the new camera has too much camera shake and makes me want to vomit.
And with the old camera the scrolling was proportional.
with the new camera i'm not so sure...at least it doesn''t feel proportional to the force used in the scroll.

Until there is the ability to customize the tracking point the new cam will be inferior to the old cam. When clicking on an object with the old cam, the screen pans around nice and smooth, placing the object in view to our customized position. When clicking on an object with the new cam, the screen jerks around very sharply, placing the object in a place that is blocked by our ship. or places our ship way off to the side of the screen if our ship is moving. One would think a new or upgraded feature would add to, not take away. Situational awareness is impossible with the new cam.

I worry about upcoming fov changes. I bet its going to be an extremely lov fov yet again, and since they are removing the ability to actually change it .. Yikes.

Well, old camera is gone today :(

The new camera is here and in its current form we will still have to provide twice as much input to look up and down than you do to look left and right. In a space game.

Camera zoom is still spongy and springy (with a ratchet-less scroll mouse) all at the same time making it a chore to use. Sure, i can turn the ratchet on and its easier to control, but then i have to roll the scroll wheel multiple times to do what i used to do with one quick flick.

Absurd...

Not quite as absurd as CCPs advice to 'turn off all the features' to make the camera usable. Why not ship this steamer with the options off by default?

It boggles my mind how CCP can even tie their own shoe laces, they struggle with the fundamentals on too many of these 'reworks'.

The baseline for a rework should be to behave like the feature it replaces. THEN build idiotic features on top. This way you can avoid annoying people who are perfectly happy with the way things were working before.

Thanks to CCP to forcing player using the useless new camera mod.

Thats the support your Users need.

So the new cam is still as unusable as before. Next CCP improvement would be to blur the UI text and force a 800*600 resolution I guess.

Pleas give the old cam back. A straight and functional cam suits the game, this new cam would fit a "my little pony game" better.

A. Camera went onto test server months ago. Did you test?
B. There are dozens if not hundreds of pages of feedback from other ppl in that time frame. Did you read them?
C. We've known for months that the old camera was going to be removed permanently and CCP gave full explained and valid reasons why. Were you listening?
D. The new camera (aside from a couple of small features) has been tweaked and adjusted (in response to player concerns) so that with the appropriate settings it is almost identical to if not an improvement on the old camera. Have you set it accordingly? (Ref. line B.)
E. The new camera was changed to be activated by default over a month ago. Did you leave it turned on so you could get accustomed to it and/or voice your concerns at that time in a productive manner via appropriate outlets?

If you answered "no" to any of the preceding questions then stop complaining.

The horse is dead. The majority of the player base have adapted and moved on and in it's current state it's not nearly that big of an issue.

A. Everyone tested this camera, every single major update.
B. Hundreds of pages of issues, the same issues that are still being complained about today.
C. I have heard reasons why the new camera has to come, i have not heard any justification for why a new camera cannot 'feel' like the old camera as a default starting point.
D. The fundamental feel of the new camera is a significant departure from the old camera. Thats before we even talk about 'features'.
E. I have no desire to get accustomed to having to move my mouse twice the distance to pan up and down as i do to look left and right. No matter how accustomed i might get, that will ALWAYS be 2x as much effort for 0x reason.

I know you are 'that' guy. You would rather poke holes in other peoples feedback to validate yourself. If you like the camera, say so. If others dont like it, please refrain from amateur moderating their posts.

The horse is never dead. If we listened to people like you, and there were some, we would have a separate skill to train for the force auxiliary ships to perform roles that we could already do pre patch.

In my anecdotal experience, well over half of the people who i ask in gallente FW have switched back to the old camera at every patch. To be fair, i was surprised it was not nearly all and that there was a significant fraction 1/3 - 2/5 of people who did use the new camera.

If you want to talk about how giving feedback is fruitless because CCP are always correct then please open your own thread on that topic.

I considered responding to each of your points but ultimately it would be pointless. Your entire complaint boils down "the camera is less sensitive in the vertical axis (much tears, much crying)" Hardly game breaking or even that hard to get used to for that matter.

Most of the other complaints in this thread are based on failure to adjust the available settings. Simple as that.

Dead horse continues to be dead.
