Like everything else, EVE is great, but only in moderation. If you feel the sings of being engulfed, learn how to make yourself take a break if you can, clear your head, and never stop living actual life. Because living actual life makes you actually appreciate everything else, like playing EVE.

good luck

Hey Man,

You seem to be suffering from a type of anxiety.

Try to take it easy and simply play this game for fun. There are lots of natural remedies like Valerian tea which can help you be less anxious and think more clearly. Also buy an exercise bike or go jogging regular and drink lots of water.

Have a think about getting some counselling and talking to someone about your problems, lots of people keep their problems in and never talk about it which I believe makes anxiety worse.

Good luck man.

Fear no one, live life, be free, accept the truth, do not judge others, defend yourself, fight hard till the end, meditate on problems and be prosperous. Things to exist by. -- RAIN Arthie

yes I have BPD. it's nasty. I've been getting treatment. Doing what I can.

I think I remember you! You're the fella who wanted to start a corp in 0.0!

Well, maybe its not you, I don't know. Anyway thanks!

Usually this is more about perspective than treatment. It sounds like you lost perspective.

When you log in, ask yourself why you're logging in...

If you have some free time and want to have fun, it's usually a good sign you are ready to play.

If you are obsessing over something, making ISK, blowing up other peoples ships, getting that last little bit of whatever, then you are borderline having an issue. Even logging in just to check everything is borderline OCD.

So pay attention to yourself, the game is a space fantasy life simulation so people can get really hung up on it. That's normal, probably because it's more exciting than our own lives at times.

Just be aware of what you are doing and why you are doing it. If you can hold on to that, generally speaking, you're just fine. It's when you lose sight of that is how you get into trouble.

Fly safe.

When i started playing eve i was all about it. For my first 2 -3 years all my free time was spent playing eve. What made it worse at the time was my girlfriend played as much as i did and sat on her pc 5 feet from me. I would rearrange my real life to make timers and such.

It burned me out, depressed me, etc. I had no life outside of eve and work. I stopped playing for nearly a year. I came back for a few months left again, came back left again. Finally im balancing it out. Changes by CCP has made it easier. I use to grind rats all day long for isk. Now i just sell a couple of plexes and do what i want when im in game.

My alliance had a post describing various OPs. And of course you have the CTA which to them is setting your alarm clock for 3 am or calling in sick to work to be there. 7 years ago i would of done it in a blink, now im like youre insane. Im not rearranging my life and im definitely not calling in sick for a bunch of pixels in a game. Been there done that not doing it again.

Time is the one commodity that you have a limited supply of and once you spent it, its gone. You can never get it back. Remember that when you play video games.

Brutal but true.
Escapism is a way to deal with the horrifying fact that death awaits us all.
When someone's unstable i don't get involved with advice, then i'm responsible and involved.
Some of us, there isn't enough reps in the world and never will be, wish more people understood that.

Coming on to the forums to tell everyone you have BPD is a hilariously typical BPD thing to do. Time to get back to those mindfulness breathing exercises...

"When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child;
but when I became a man, I put away childish things. "

Funny thing about time. As it passes we tend to get older; hopefully mature and do that thing we like to call "grow up."

If we get chased by zombies, I'm tripping you.

I think this thread is useful because it brings us right back to reality. Time is precious and must be spent wisely, we must take care of our health.
