WTF CCP?

Confirming people would abuse the hell out of being able to run multiple trial accounts simultaneously, venture fleet is a thing, it's probably not a bad payout for the isk investment either.

Another example for you, a newly rolled Gallente character can be in a gank catalyst in less than a day IIRC, reasonable DPS in less than 2. Several under the control of one player are enough to kill most stuff, tens under the control of a few players will kill just about anything. Do you really want more 3 or 4 people being able to kill a freighter in hisec with free trial accounts and some multiboxing software?

Yes, it's inconvenient for players, it'd be more inconvenient for players if the practice was allowed; the downsides for everybody outweigh the upsides for you.

I came for the spaceships, I stayed for the tears.

Heh, since they are giving new players more SPs now, it's more like 2 hours. Blink

Not really. All trial accounts can use the Venture, which is the ship that is one of the most used mining ships for botters.

Imagine one person running 30 trial accounts all mining in ventures.

High sec mining is already the least profitable thing in Eve. Why would anyone want to do the worst job using the worst ship when they could easily be PLEXing real accounts with real mining ships?

Because its a throwaway ship. Easiest to replace, lowest margin ship. Zero effort zero commitment ship.

As I said before, the Venture is one of the most frequently used ships for botting. This is a statistic from CCP itself.

For those that have run a paid and trial account at the sane time, it is fully possible to do it, just not on the same computer.

So if you were running your main account in your desktop and halfway afk mining with your trial account on a laptop it would work and not break any rules.

I'd like to know how a trial account is crippled.

Every restriction a trial account has is something that a new player shouldn't be concerning themselves with anyway.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

The memories...
Creating a trial account to haul the pos fuel down the pipe and emptying the cans while you could keep mining with your alt and tanking the rats with your main Big smile

I can't remember exactly when they changed it (a much needed change) but I think it was around when freighters were introduced so the 7 year estimate sounds right but it's possible it's been even longer.

It was in the game when I joined in 2006, so probably even longer than 10 years.

T1 haulers iirc

Not much else apart from that I think.

That's super lame. When did they add that? I gave my Minmatar slave 20 lashes for keeping me from logging in and it's all CCP's fault. I hope they feel bad.

it has been that way for a very very long time
