EVE is full of strange and unrelated names. It's part of it's mystique.

Logic and ease of apprehension needs to be in the interface, data sorting ability, search boxes for every text window, etc. Unique names for a fictional world is not where it's at.

Look familiar..?

There are some people who like complicated games, and EVE is one of those.

People who use these hardwiring implants are usually players wanting complexity in games.

I use hardwirings and wrote a thread about descriptive hardwiring names. Why? Because I like to use them. I do not like having to consult some out of game resource to find out what hardwiring I'm actually looking for.

So we need better tools in game, like that 'variations' table to compare similar modules and ships, only for implants etc.

Changing names is an easy out at the cost of slowly ruining the depth of your world.

It's not being suggested as an easy way out and I highly doubt it's being done for this reason either. Changing names is the best way to convey what an implant (or module) actually does.

Few have any interest in senseless complexity as you do. Senseless because it achieves nothing except making us search longer.

MWD name changes are dumb. (Prototype? Experimental? You're seriously saying that the MWD's we've been using for years are still in the prototype stage?)

Missile name changes are aight but only if they drop the stupid Trauma name.

But implant changes to something remotely intuitive would be a godsend and make me love CCP foreverrrr.

Life must be very confusing for you with the myriad 'senseless' names for most everything.

You do know that EVE is not the real life, right?

How original. Or did you have a point to make? Do you feel EVE needs to be less like life and more like a spreadsheet? Are you one of those people that likes everything explained and digested for you in your entertainment? I guess it's a matter of taste.

Anyway, the implants are already organized; they are grouped by type with some sequence within each set, and named accordingly. The naming scheme may not be obvious, but that's ok since EVE is pretty much an alien universe thousands of years in the future. This little bit is just one aspect that helps build immersion.

my thoughts exactly.

i always found the ab/mwd names ok. but i rather adjust to some weird names for a few propulsion mods, then having to deal with the gazillion ****** implant names.

so i very much support the name changes. and honestly, saying that this will dumb down eve is ridiculous.
