Gaining empire standing in FW?

I managed to mess up my standing with the Caldari state. It's a long story. I'm having trouble figuring out how to fix it though. I'm not getting any for plexing. I heard FW missions don't give any either since they don't give storylines. Am I just stuck with -0.64 Caldari standing forever?

How do I do that? I read a few FW guides, but none of them mentioned promotions.

Im not really sure what counts toward getting promotions, i guess plexing and missions do but im not sure about killing war targets, i never got the "you were promoted" message after killing someone :)

FW has lots of features that arent documented, try asking the bitter vets in your militia chat

Do FW missions (needs 5.0 militia standing), do plexes to get standings increase. What not to do if you want to increase standings: Shoot friendly militia, shoot friendly militia wrecks, Pod friendly militia (Went from 9.8 to 4.9) decline an fw mission from agent within 4 hours after declining another one.

Post with your NPC alt main and not your main main alt!

it's the other way around, your 'rank' (promotions) corresponds to your standing with your militia and as far as i know is not affected by your faction standing.

But getting promoted does increase your faction standings. I mean I have 8.62 base standings with Mordus Legion of all people since I kept getting promoted in state pro.My amarr standings is even higher than my caldari standings due to promotions too.

After a bunch more googling I was able to find something that said you do get a one time boost to your empire standings from promotions. He's right.

Edit: For the record if any other FW newbies read this, don't defend yourself if you get attacked by a friendly. Apparently they don't get a suspect timer or anything and even if they started it it still tanks your standing fast.

Got a promotion tonight. I went from -0.64 to -0.17.
