Titan gun tracking

I see them killed pods and dramiels with no other ship on it.
I see in Battle overviews huge fleets died to them within minutes.

Is it that bad? Is it maybe overpowered?

When a target is 100km+ far it's not about tracking, but about signature resolution Smile

Whether it is overpowered is up for some debate. But, in my opinion, a titan's weakness should be vs subcaps. And the fact that they can fairly easily burn down close ranged ships when they stack tracking enhancers and tracking computers. Yeah, it's a problem.

The problem comes because the sigres and tracking terms in the turret formula are multiplicative, so sigres stops counting if you don't have angular against your target. This isn't an issue with 1 titan on the field, but is a problem with 50 Titans (or a pile of stasis webs) on the field.

To be honest, it's probably just a pod sitting in the middle of a bubble, waiting to die. If stationary then signature plays absolutely no part in the hit-chance formula.

As for the small ships... who knows. :$

They might as well remove their ability to hit subcaps with guns. If that'll make you come out and play.Big smile

titan tracking is fine.

Sig res plays a huge part.

If a target has little angular velocity, it will die.

Why do you think drakes die in a fire no matter the speed or direction vs 1 titan.... Cool

Because many people have gotten ruined in a MWDing drake by titans that "can't" hit them.

It not a huge deal with one but where there are 20 ......find a way to line up with one of them.

That's the problem, titan sig res is too low. The +600% damage hull bonus should also come with a +600% sig res penalty.

Ever been or seen fight out there? Bubbles. If the pod has to slow boat 20-100k to get out, civilian guns with no skills and all the booster penaltys will work, also lock time becomes moot.

Also it's a *choghdeathstarchough* what did you think it dose to other ships, one cost that much time and isk.

I wanted to paint my space ship red, but I couldn't find enough goats.

The Death Star was blown up by an X-Wing. The Death Star 2 was blown up by the Millenium Falcon. See that happening to a Titan in a supercap fleet?

^This, there should be a (extremely small) percentage chance that every shot can instapop a supercap, no matter how much hp it has remaining.Cool

Woah, Woah, Woah That is both not what I said, and ridiculously stupid. I want there to be a non-Supercap counter to a supercap group. Not a "Roll the Dice to see if Mr Rifter blows you up"

No, it's that sig res SIMPLY STOPS MATTERING when your targets aren't able to maintain transversal on you AND all 20 of your Titan-flying buddies. Penalizing sig res of Titan guns simply won't do much about the situation.

Webbing and painting any ship or sitting at long range with zero angular will get hit.

Stop whining and learn2fly.

Tracking Titans have fairly weak tank compared to the standard titan fit, so stop whining like a little carebear and start shooting.

Titans have already managed to be nerfed from no longer having remote tracking and boosting work.

Having a webber and painter to help the Titan is called TEAMWORK.

If you have TEAMWORK then you should get rewarded. Stop whining like little babies about it.

Like the above mentioned quote of which I agree with.....

Depending upon the type of fight and what the FC says about fitting requirements, titans fit for the battle as required.....

If 20 titans jump in to murder a sub-cap fleet, take a guess at how they will be fitted..... Fitted to kill your whining butt.....

Titan guns do exactly what titan's should do for the amount they cost Shocked

if a 20 man titan fleets jumps you they can refit on the fly if needed

so the current fit on a titan is not important they just need the mods on board (massive corp hanghar)
