After quitting 4 times in 10 years I feel like Michael Corleone - "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!"

You could get out if you only played single-player games. Many are very hard, and can kick one's arse over and over, if you make the wrong move. But if you want an MMO and a game world happening based on human IQs, there is only Eve. Any other MMO might just make you rage at being fed bad taste graphics, led by the nose and having your human IQ badly insulted.

Its a hard game to quit because there is nothing like it. You get bored or fed up with it after awhile but most always come back. Might take them a few months or even a year but nothing else gives you, your eve fix. You try to find new games to replace eve in your life, but you find yourself, instead of enjoying them, picking out all the things that eve does better. After one to several attempts like this, you finally come back to eve not planning on playing but just to see whats new... you get sucked in and it starts all over again.

The only way to really ever quit eve is to die in real life, even then your ghost probably plays eve.

Yet the irony is we only hear the stories of those who CANNOT quit, never the ones that do, because if they do and its successful they will never post on the forums to say they have quit. So our viewpoints are skewed towards the ideology that one cannot actually quit Eve when many do in fact.

Humanity is a funny animal.Lol

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

Quite a truth. *I* Can't quit the gme and just take breaks from it, but I can tell you of several people who quitted forever.

I know some that have quit permanently( at least up to this point) but its hard to say unless they died in real life they quit for good. Many say they quit for good and 2 years later log back in. So until they die or eve dies, they are just afk.

So i guess this relationship we have with eve is like a marriage..." until death does us part"

I've been playing on and off since 2008. I've quit because I was bored, ticked off, had no free time, whatever. And here I am. Still playing. Now I'm pondering going to Fanfest in 2017. But I'll be 58 then, and frankly most of the people in the photos look my kids (or grandkids, eek).

Looks like fun, but I'm not sure its for me. Nevertheless, I continue to play simply because there is nothing as good, as serious and as all-encompassing as Eve.

So there.

Once a player, always a player!

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

I regret two things: that I quit EVE few times and that I found out about the game already too late back in 2008. If I could turn back time I',d play straight from the release without pauses...

It's like they say: don't be a quitter, be a winner.

That means you won EVE four times already! Are you keeping a tally score?

Yup. Leaving EVE permanently is the only way to win the game.

My signature applies here.

Eve is like an addiction; you can't quit it until it quits you. Also, iderno
