Probing with the old map

Hiya. I'm a returning player (been away about 6 months) so i don't know if this intentional or not, i can't find any info. But whenever i try to probe with the old map i can only see the probe's symbol, no sphere. this - https://i.gyazo.com/f5314cb681ee2ad6e0eff999b6b84fb7.png (the probes are active)

Is there a workaround or a fix for this? I can't get used to the new map at all, i'm not sure what it is, whether the signatures are too dim, or the probes are too pright because it's hard for my eyes to pick up the sigs. I don't know how to describe it really but i can't get along with it, so finding a way to fix this so that i can return to the old map will really improve my experience.

I'm sorry if this isn't the correct forum, but i figured is anyone would know it's peeps in the wormhole channel.

thanks

I know this doesn't answer your question, but I tried to stay with the old map but finally made the switch and like it better than the old map now.

There are a lot of worthwhile improvements in the new map - especially the ability to map keys to probes expand/contract, scan and d-scan. Also control what items show on the map and the view the d-scan cone. You can right click on anons to d-scan and quickly find targets.

You are better off making with peace with the new map. If you use the option to show full screen map it makes it easier to see the fine details.

i disagree for one reason new map window cannot be merged with new probe ui window so you have to keep switching windows to probe and warp to found object .

In your general settings in game options you can turn it off

You can resize the the map window and then you don't need to switch.

You might want to open a ticket. I use the old probe scanner and the new d-scanner together without any issues

I use the new map exclusively, it's a far better experience than the old map. Just downsize it so it sits in the middle of your screen and you can still see your overview and probe screen.

My only complaint with the new map is the title bar double click action is entirely different than ever other window.

the dscan cone is way too intrusive, especially as we have it on 360 in wormhole space 99% of the time. I really can't see **** when attempting to scan with it.

The cone though is also wicked useful for probing down someone after narrowing them with dscan. It makes it almost too easy

Unless you know basic geometry, in which case it is useless fluff that distracts from real issues like not being able to recenter your view because it forces you to lock it to dscan.
