Standings gain

So my caldari standings are at -5.95. I ran a L1 storyline and it only went up to -5.91. Is it really supposed to take this long? I could've sworn standings gain was far more than this. Aside from getting my social skills even higher, is there anything else I can do to make this go faster?

I have Social 4, Diplomacy 4, and Connections 3

Faction Standing Repair Plan (it's a sticky thread at the top of this forum)

Basically you still have to run low level missions, but just a lot and you'll have storyline missions more frequently than the usual every-16-mission cycle, so it will go faster following "the Plan".

Kolmogorow is correct. 'The Plan' is the easiest and quickest way to not only raise negative Faction standings, but also raise positive Faction standings as well.

Definitely train up the Social skills to lv 5 asap, especially Diplomacy.

Good luck and much success to you.

Right. I'm trying to work towards the Plan. But am I correct in understanding that a storyline only moves me about .05? I remember it used to increase by more than that from a couple years ago when I ran missions

Having Social trained to V will slightly improve this. The type of Storyline mission and level of Agent will also influence this. You might be able to get under -5.00 if you train Diplomacy to V as well. Best of luck!

Does it increase significantly once I hit positive standings again? Or is it because I'm running level 1 missions as opposed to L4 ?

I wouldn't say "significantly", but yeah - a little bit. It's also because they're L1 agents.

OK, you're probably misunderstanding how 'The Plan' actually works. Since you're Gallente and you say your Caldari Faction is -5.91 standing, I'm thinking it's probably worse than your Amarr Faction standing.

Now if your Amarr Faction is above -5.00 (-4.99 or higher) standing, you can immediately start working the Amarr Event Agents. They will give derived Faction standing increase towards your Caldari Faction standing and when that get's above -5.00 Faction standing, you can then enter Caldari space and start working their Event Agents.

After that happens, all you have to do is watch your Factions standing while working the Event Agents and switch over to the new lowest Faction listed in your standings. Basically you'll work each Factions Event Agents by bouncing back and forth between the 4 main Factions when needed.

Yes, level 1 story lines give a much lower bonus than level 4. Even worse if it's a trade or courier type instead of combat.
