So last night I was somehow locked in less than 5 seconds and instapopped from 105km away while doing 3000+km/s at a 120° angle in a condor. Not cool.

yeah you should probably stay away from capitals in subcaps now

It is an interesting scenario, Once upon a time the Battleship was king, there was no sig on ship, whacking frigates with Large Turrets was pretty simple and so frigates where noob mobiles serving no point in the game once you could get out of them.

Years later CCP decides this is a bad idea. That the sole ruling king of the battlefield the battleship was to much and that frigates and cruisers should have a place. The counter arguement was that battleships cost exponentially more isk and training time, this is derided and slammed aside by the bulk of the player base so here comes Sig and lock times. No more insta locking frigates and blapping em as if they where npc ships. Few more tweaks later and a wolf pack of frigs was a rather dangerous thing for the BS

Now here's citadel, CCP buffs up carriers and now they don't have a lot to fear from sub caps. The best counter is bring another cap to kill the cap. The arguement that carriers should be able to do this? cost and training time.. Something ridiculed years and years ago as a foolish game design mechanic...

Kind of Ironic that CCP is recreating their mistakes with battleships on capitals, its not AS bad as the battleship scenario but it's up there

Making it impossible for an interceptor to hold down a carrier until help arrives is probably bad for pvp. It makes the 'gate of 100 bubbles' too strong. It's getting too easy to just bubble up a pipe or side spur of systems and carrier rat risk free in null.

Between the changes to the watch list and carriers being able to insta wonk sub capitals CCP is sending a clear message they don't want anyone hunting capital ships with anything but luck and cynos.

maybe they want more capitals in space thus you need caps to kill caps, fly around pvp'ing in a capital long enough and someone will drop you

Quoting because cyno is too much work. Can't be arsed to go that far for a carrier kill.

Buff carriers, they are useless! nonono wait, wait i meant nerf! nerf!

perhaps people should adapt and work out new tactics before they whine.

"My all-time-ever-stupid-carrier-tackle-because-they-cant-do-****-tactic doesnt work anymore, carriers really should be nerfed!"

Carriers are fine. Now we just need to buff Battleships...

I never wanted them buffed and I have no interest in ever flying one.

What tactic counters being instagibbed in anything but another capital? "Please don't take my i win button. I can't get kills if I have to do anything more complicated than push F1 and I couldn't adapt to being tackled like everyone else." Try again.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize you had to be a victim of stupidity to participate in this thread... It's not like CCP made any of the proposed carrier changes available in the last few months. Oh wait...

This totally reminds me of the pirate ship rebalance.

No, not that one. Dominion.

Everyone bar none thought the Machariel was going to be terrible. Which was followed by years of absolutely Machariel dominance for years. I'll laugh if we get that again.

You're complaining about getting insta-popped in a flipping condor? Not even a fast condor? 3k lol. A worm could insta-pop you. Carriers are less than helpless now, good for them. Have they been over buffed? I dunno but it certainly isn't as extreme as you make it out to be. Claiming the "inst-gib" anything less than a cap and using a condor as your comparison isnt exactly supportive to your argument. Show us a BS (not crap fit) getting insta-popped and maybe ppl will care. Maybe a crap fit t1 frig isnt the best ship to hold down a frigging carrier, maybe think of that? Maybe the navy should send out a canoe to shut down the enemy fleet next time there's a naval conflict.

Maybe......MAYBE a ****-frig which everyone can fly after 2 weeks isn't supposed to tackle and hold a ship in place which one can fly after YEARS... before citadel those carriers were just helpless, now you can't solo them anymore which is good.

oh and besides: who said you need another capital? Oh...forget it. I do not expect a null/lowsec F1 monkey to work out something new

bit easier to just drop a dread on a combat carrier than suffer battleship losses from fighters thus capitals to kill capitals is a bit more efficient, who are you calling an f1 monkey?

everyone, because it describes what we love \o/

easier for others, yes.
easier for him, no.

Since he flies a condor and speaking from KB, he/they (whatever corp or not) would be better off trying new tactics with subcaps. just saying

Carriers that are camping this way at a distance to gate with their fighters at zero on gate are easy to remove - just drop combat scanner probes on grid with them and watch them run!

Read patchnotes.

1: Angle doesn't matter.
2: Carriers easily get 900+ Scanres now.
3: Stay away from the fighters. (Oh yeah they can go kinda fast, for 20 sec per minute or so.)
