Is it my computer or the server?

When put all the graphics settings on maximum, I get hiccups on the test server - in the main system where there's like 30 XL Citadels on screen.

But my computer should be able to handle it (because I am running a laptop with i7-4720HQ and Geforce GTX 980M in SLI - it is about the same as a GTX 980 TI). My system should be able to handle any Eve Online graphics, even if the screen is cluttered.

So is it the server that's producing the hiccups? Or does Eve Online just get graphics intensive when there is a lot of items on the screen?

Because at one point, I see that the GPU's went up to 40% load.

Well, more items means more textures to load, and that will likely have some impact on frames. It shouldn't be a big impact, though. Citadels are new (including their textures and other effects), so they may not be completely optimized just yet. I know if I face a station, my frames do drop a bit, but it's not much and only noticable really when looking at the CTRL+F window or my OSD's frame rate. Then again that only really matters if you're close enough to them to actually see them, hence when textures get drawn.

How's your heat? Feel under your laptop and if it feels like a burn hazard, something could be up with how well your laptop keeps cool. Especially if you're only hitting 40% load but still getting hot, then that could mean a bad fan or something.

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."
